I have a bug in my Venice republic game (all main DLCs including Conclave installed, Charlemagne start) where I get a consistent game over after an election. I already had several elections with no problem so this is new to me. Here is some context :
The actual doge (not me) has no heir to his house, that will go extinct after his death. When he dies a new doge is elected (still not me), the game announces the new doge and I have the popup that my family estate is the wrong type of holding, then the game over screen pops-up.
In the game over screen summing up my dynasty, it only shows the uncle of my current patrician, which is the leader of my family's mercenary's band.
Why does the game suggest that I am my uncle after the election (he is not my heir, and my character does not die)?
Has anyone met the same problem and found a way around it? This is an Ironman save, so I do not know how to take care of this bug.
Sorry if wrog section or double post, I do not think I have seen this thread somewhere else.

What a strange issue, it's caused by your uncle being in a mercenary band. You can temporarily work around it by using 'Replace Mercenary Captain' on him and replacing him with someone not related to you.

I'll file an issue, thanks for the report!
