Republic doge left without heir

I'm currently doge of Ireland and king of Sweden. My 'heir' was my half brother, my sons being still children. Suddenly I get an alert that I'll lose stuff on my death, when I check the republic tab, I don't have any heir! My half brother is still fine, no changes there that I could see, and he's my designated heir, so why doesn't it show anything under my mansion? (not sure if this matters but my oldest daughter is now adult).

It means that your half brother is expected to loose the election on your death. If you have the money put a hundred or so into the fund and see if you can tip it in his favor.

He should still be heir to your house though if he is of your dynasty and not a bastard.

If he is not showing as the heir to your house despite having the designated heir title, reloading the game might fix that.
