Replacing Chamberlain

It is clearly an advantage to replace Chamberlain with Churchill, but I am not certain how best to achieve that. There is a focus titled "Vote of No Confidence," and I assume that focus step is the way to begin replacing Chamberlain. But is there a timing issue? In other words, is there an ideal time to choose this focus? I expected the focus would require that the UK be at war but apparently not. Is it a good idea to run this focus step as early as possible? I assume the focus will set up some event trigger, but I'm not sure. How should I proceed?

Democratic UK has two options, go historical and try and appease Germany or be interventionist and try and stop Germany early.
Vote of no confidence is down the intervention route and it's supposed to replace chamberlain early to try and stop Hitler early but it comes at the cost of war support and build up time.

So, there is a risk/reward situation. Supposing I want some time to build up, then, I might delay triggering this event. I'm thinking 1939 time frame (1st half of that year) would be a kind of compromise. In the real war, Chamberlain wasn't replaced until May 1940, I believe.

Replacing Chamberlain early through the Global Defense branch comes with serious penalties to British stability so the historical path of Home Defense is clearly superior i think. You can oppose Hitler as you want with Chamberlain as well i think.

I think you're right, which means I made the wrong choice when I went with Global Defense. Just out of curiosity, I assume that Churchill shows up eventually if the Home Defense path is taken. Is there a set time when that happens or is it variable?

In September-November 1940, Chamberlain will pass away no matter what, and you get a choice to replace him with either Churchill or Halifax. If WW2 starts and Poland + France (I think) capitulates to Germany before then, Chamberlain will resign and get replaced with Churchill.

Global Defense is just an alternate history path where Churchill comes to power earlier.

Historically he has resigned after the defeat in Norway.

He get replaced automatically in 1939 with Churchhill. It´s good to have Chamberlain to Aug. / Sept. 1939 about health issue. It´s better to have a long peace instead a war you can´t win.
