Two separate things. I was wondering how you all prefered farming them. I've noticed I'm in a relative dead spot for renown. I got it far faster when I kept an army roughly 20-30 strong and fought bandits at every chance then I get it now with an army 50-60 strong.

The 50-60 strong force however is most useful in farming greater relations with other vassals of the same faction as you're much more useful and likely to win when rushing to their aid.

Right to rule I haven't quite figured out but some how I managed to increase it up to 18. I have no idea why to be quite honest.

Thoughts or experiences?

i have noticed i get +3 right to rule after every war the kingdom I'm in fights. (doesn't matter what kingdom)

you can also get right to rule from your companions and if you get married; though i have not tried getting hitched yet.

as for renown you get it for pretty much anything you do, i usually grind a few levels eairly on in the game against bandits with a small army. Then when i join a kingdom i build my army a little bit bigger but much stronger. so right now i use 30 to 40 swadian knights 4 companions and i have a max party size of 86.
when i pick my fights i only go for parties bigger (in size) then mine.

The amount of renown you get for each battle depends on the odds laid against you. The less troops you have and the more troops the enemy has, and the tougher he is, the more renown you get for winning the battle.

Do note however that (at least in original M&B) the max renown you can get from a battle is 50.

Another way for renown are tournaments, which are also a good way to improve relations with the ladies.

Tournament are also nice place for renown, +20 renown for each tournament you win, not including the money you can make from bet, but this is harder then it use to in the original.

EDIT: T'pek beat me =p

heh, I think my OP was a bit misread. I wasn't asking for the best ways to get it but how other players prefered doing it. Some might prefer tournaments, others might prefer mass battles.

On right to rule, any idea how high it goes?
