Renaming the Argo?

Isn't it seen as bad luck to rename a ship?
Ok, it is just superstition...and this is a game anyway...but still...Bad luck will befall ye who renames that scallywag! Arggh! (Had to channel my inner pirate there at the end).
My knowledge of Viking-themed historical fiction tells me that you can get rid of the bad luck if you have a virgin pee on the boat.

You could call your Merc Commander Character "TheRealDecker"

Oh brother, I'd rename the Argo "Talk" as my Merc Outfit would be called "Cold Play". I just hope my outfit doesn't take "salvage" from a sentient BattleMech!
I'm not the sort of commander who wastes much money on repainting hulls or replacing business cards. Her new name will be "Fargo".
ARGO is just the class designator. Call it whatever you want in your mind...

That would generally be true, but since the Argo is the lead ship of her class of 1(2), the class name is the same as the hull name. She is in fact named the Argo. Not that your advice to use your imagination isn't good, just saying thats not true in this case.

Ah ha! G ,you are correct.
However, this one off piece of junk is found floating in space and we are going to give it a new coat of paint and some frilly curtains so we can negotiate it's inclusion on that new syndicated show "Flip that Dropship" (Of course we will have a backstory about it's origin and designation as the "ARGO" 1) but we will probably rename it based on a whim.

[EDIT] Although I suppose a woodland camo scheme would be an acceptable alternative. Being made invisible to the naked eye is a serious strategic advantage.
