I was watching the latest EU4 stream with Hansa/Novgorod (great fun, by the way), and I must say that you guys have modelled the Danish provinces to more or less perfection. Really well done - and a significant improvement over EU3 and the first screenshots of that area.
Only one issue remains. The naming of the waters in the area located between Denmark, Norway and Sweden is still very inconsistent, but I think I have a fair and easy solution.
My proposal is this:
Skagerrack -> Skagerrak. This one has been in many Paradox games, but it's time to get it right. Skagerrak is the official name in all three Scandinavian languages and English. There's no reason for that ugly c.
Öresund -> The Sound. Öresund is the Swedish name and while Øresund would be pleasing to Danes, this contested body of water should use the proper English name, just like it's done in the Baltic Sea and generally everywhere on the map. It also makes The Sound Due more logical to non-natives playing in the area (if that's still in the game, of course).
Stora Bælt -> Great Belt or The Belts. This one made me smile. Stora Bælt is a weird hybrid of Danish and Swedish and doesn't make a lot of sense. One can argue for both English names, but The Belts is probably the more logical choice since it includes Little Belt as well. If you want Danish names it's Storebælt or Bælterne (though the latter is very uncommon).
I hope you'll consider it. Really excited for the game!
Changed Skagerrack to Skagerrak, Stora Bält to The Belts, Ålands Hav to Sea of Åland and Östersund to The Sound.
