Are there any sub-mods which remove the interest factions (glory, court, etc)? These are incredibly annoying to deal with (particularly as a vassal duke), generating a constant stream of notifications from both levels. Honestly the reason I found CK2+ almost unplayable.

Since when do interest factions stream you with constant notifications as vassal duke?

The 'X' character has joined a faction ones, both for the factions in my court and my lieges. I know that I can turn those off in the event message settings, but that will also stop me seeing them for factions like independence and and crown authority, stuff that's much more importantly tracked. It depends on the size of the realm you're in as to how bad it is, but playing in the HRE (1066) i was getting dozens of notifications every few ticks as the AI constantly jumped between factions.

Well, 'X started faction Y' and 'X joined faction Y' are different types of messages which you can filter according to your message settings. My settings, long before EMF had interest factions, have always been to stick 'X joined faction Y' (but not started) into the low-priority messages tab or log. You already get alerts when factions are growing to potentially dangerous sizes, so I hardly see the need to be spammed about every faction join/leave, whether it be an interest faction or other faction.

Of course, there is no super-easy way to disable interest factions, and I can't comprehend the desire to do so based solely off poor message settings.

I wouldn't mind toning them down myself. At least in the 2.4.5 version it's not uncommon for a new ruler to come to power in an empire and have multiple factions with over 300%-400% strength compared to the new liege. In 5 imperial transitions I've faced 2 civil wars each time without fail (one a faction demand, another on crown authority), and this seems as far as I can tell to be unavoidable and automatic on any leadership transition. Holding back 1000 gold for "new liege mercenary hires emergency fund" is pretty much standard practice.

Between that and the "we made it harder to convert provinces religion, yet even at 70% moral authority hearsays pop up everywhere like Starbucks" (and I actually find this far, far more annoying and a-historical than the faction issue) being an empire has thus far been significantly less fun than being a king ever was. Both feel like totally artificial difficulty that have nothing to do with historical immersion at all, though of the two the factions are certainly far more believable.
