Can anyone point me to a mod, or perhaps give me a quick run down of how I can (if possible) remove this ridiculous feature? I'm tired of playing ping-pong in Africa and Russia.

It's not really noticeable in most places, it only really becomes apparent when fighting in large low infra areas where, upon losing org fighting you then proceed to lose org moving into the province until you have ~0 org left when you finally arrive, the enemy attacks and you instantly retreat. It goes on and on in africa.
