Hi.

I am looking to do some mine tweaks to my Stellaris gaming experience and would like to be able to completely remove some of the space creatures and leviathans. Since I know next to nothing about modding myself I am looking to the forums for some kind soul to teach me how to do this, which files and lines to edit etc.

So, for example, say that I would like to disable the Tiyanki from existing in my game. How would I go about doing it? Eliminating all traces of them in the game files (which files?) or prevent them from being spawned in the galaxy?

The same question applies to, say, the Ether drake.

The Ether Drake (and any other unique creature) is simpler. The scripts to create these can be found in common/system_initializers folder. The Ether Drake can be found in the leviathans_system_initializers.txt file.

Copy that file to your mod, delete the section regarding the Ether Drake, and you'll never see it in game again.

Tiyanki can be found in hostile_system_initializers.txt, but a few others are events IIRC.

Thank you for the reply!

I successfully disabled the Leviathans, but I am having problems with the spaceborn aliens. I tried deleting all of them, except the mining drones, from the hostile_system_initializers and booted up a game and went into observer mode. I still find systems with "Prisms", "Placid Leviathans: Tiyanki Space Whale", "Spaceborn Organics: Space Amoeba", "Enigmatic Energy: Void Cloud".

How come they still spawn, and how do I disable them completely?

Some of the creatures are found in a several of the initializers. I would guess you'll need to create a copy of each .txt file in your mod and strip any entries mentioning the critters.
