I've heard about this stacking penalty, what is it, when was it introduced and why? I've heard that it doesn't apply to the AI.
If you attacked or was attacked and you had over 4 planes in your stack you get a very nasty penalty.
For example i have 12 fighters in a single stack and i attack 3 enemy fighters now my 12 get owned and i will probably lose some the penalty was very harsh in large stacks.
If i had 6 fighters the penalty would be manageable until i find an *AI* airstack of 6+ which will very easily eat my fighters.
That was the main problem the fact that the AI didnt have the penalty so it could just fly all over place with a large airstack and own anything. Since you cant attack with over 4 planes your not going to beat the AI uberstack of doom.
The penalty wasnt limited to fighters many people have lost fighters while trying to kill an AI *bomber* stack due to penalty making *AI* bombers more effective than players jet fighters!!!.
This patch fixes that so you dont get the penalty at all. You do get still have leadership penalty over 12 planes but not a -100 penalty for it like before.
It does mean you can kill AI stacks much easier now and the dreaded AI uberstack is a thing of a past (Since its possible to fight it!).
