Hello there.

I think this is the game I played the most this year, with and without mods. Well, I should say with or without Roguetech. But I have a big problem with the RNG in it (and any other game). And it became an even bigger problem with the new expansion and the reward system for flashpoints.

I can accept some types of RNG in certain situations. For example, in this game, during the battle RNG simulates a real time mech battle in a turn based game. That's ok. Even though, I ha... erm, I don't like it when the enemy has the first shot of a battle, fires one single medium laser and hits one of my mechs in the head... In other cases however, RNG should not have been used. For example, when you are rewarded at the end of a contract.

What if, when you negotiate, you have only two sliders. One for money and one for reputation, that work just like the ones we get now, choose more money get less reputation, select less money get more reputation. At the end of the battle you are presented with a list of all surviving equipment from the battlefield. And you are prompted to choose. The value of every piece of equipment you select is deducted from the amount of money you negotiated for before the battle.

This way, you have complete control over the money and equipment you get. But you are also limited by the way you played that mission, how much equipment you left intact on the battlefield and it's market value (maybe with a small discount) for the specific faction that gave you that specific contract. Maybe you can even pay with your own money if you really want some piece of equipment and don't want to lose others.

Also, the amount of c-bills awarded per contract should be revised. So should the equipment market values.

Just to be clear, I don't know if other reward systems were considered or tested before release. All I know is what I played.

Quick question, is this something modders could implement?
