Maybe this would be very hard to do from a programming standpoint but I feel like this restriction doesn't really add anything to the game.

Remove restriction on one construction at a time?

We have updated our Community Code of Conduct. Please read through the new rules for the forum that are an integral part of Paradox Interactive’s User Agreement.
You should be able to build a military building, a diplo building, and an admin building simultaneously, but not two of the same type at the same time.
Maybe for each construction project you have going on, your build speed is decreased? To represent limited resources.
