How event chain would work:
- This event chain would replace the mass extinction event chain.
- It would begin just a 1 or 2 years after the start of the game. When the event starts, a list of former colonies and their possible locations would appear on your situations log.
- Most of these former colonies are now regular inhabitable solid worlds or habitable worlds.
- 15% chance that a habitable former colony have the colonial remnant modifier
- 15% chance that a former colony is now a tomb world.
- 5% chance that a habitable former colony is run by a primitive version of your kind. Turns out they somehow managed to survive the fall of your previous empire and they managed to retain some of the former empire's infrastructure.
- Another 5% chance that the former colony is now a shattered or shielded world. You could build a research station on these world as they would provide large scientific research bonuses. Don't expect to learn what truly happened to these worlds though.
- After the completing the event chain, you can decide whether to learn from the old empire's mistakes ( gains unity, influence, energy credits and a empire modifier that gives increased societal research and stability), restore the old empire (gains unity, influence, increased admin cap, temporary pops happiness and increased authoritarian ethics attraction) or to avenge the old empire (gains unity, influence, decreased claim cost and increased naval capacity, this option is only available if your empire is a militarist or xenophobe).
