So since I don't know anything about the Elder Universe.

I started the first bookmark as the duke of some part of the Colovian Estates and I have the Reman bloodline trait. I suppose I should be trying to restore myself to the island in the middle of the map? Any advice on what I should do or whether there are some interesting paths I should follow as a member of this dynasty?

I also noticed that there are no de jure empires when I select the icon. Intentional?

Thanks

Imperial Isle is the capital of the Empire in the games plus in Elder kings it’s one of the most developed county’s and one of its holding white gold tower is one of the 3 unique tower holdings that is superior to standard castles if you have the cash to buys its expensive upgrades so it makes a pretty good capital. There aren’t any de jure Empires by default in Tamriel as they are formed by decisions when you have more than one high kingdom. Standard path as someone in Cyrodiil is to try and form the high kingdom of Cyrodiil, High kingdoms are basically better than regular kingdoms and correspond to the canon provinces of Tamriel shown in this map.

At the start only Morrowind, Elsweyr and Summerset Isle have the high kingdom formed the rest are split up into smaller kingdoms but each can be united and made de jure by claiming for 3 kingdoms that are next to each other inside its borders and taking the decision to form it. After getting Cyrodiil I would say aim for getting another high kingdom and a third kingdom to try and form the Empire of Tamriel which assuming you are human and a follower of the eight divines will let your character ascend and become a god forming the nine divines religion that your successor will follow.
