Ive only played the game once and i have one question about religous tolerance.

How do i change the level of tolerance of a religon? Is there suppose to be a slider? Where?

If i change it what will happen? If tolerance is high the risk of relebion will be lower? Is this is thrue, way not alwas have a high tolerance? Is there a downside?

Thanks you your help

Click on your shield (the one to the upper left). U will get info abt ur monarch, ur ranking and a symbol for ur religion, usually some kind of cross. Click on the cross and u will get to the sliders.

You can also get there from any province information screen, by clicking on the cross/crescent/pagan star which appears there.

Tolerance is a "zero-sum" affair so the average of all the sliders will always be halfway along, unless you cheat. :D If you have four sliders and set two to maximum, the other two will be at minimum: set one max and one halfway, the others will be one min and one halfway, or both at one-quarter, etc.

Actually, they should call it 'not-tolerating'. Since a negative setting seems to have more effect than a positive one - or is it just me?

Depends if it's your state religion or not. For non-state religions, maximum tolerance gives a revolt modifier of -9... minimum tolerance doesn't give you +9, so it works in your favour. OTOH, tolerance below 75% to your state religion and they'll be up in arms.

Personally, I give 100% tolerance to Catholics (state religion), 50% to ortodox christians, perhaps 50% to muslims and zero to those heretics up north! Gotta show 'em the way of the Holy Virgin, you know...
(actually, to be religious intolerant kinda spices the game up. You gotta love those heretic rebellions in Germany... ;) ).

And funny thing is, over here I know a lot of guys who would like to do that for real!

I actually have a good catholic friend, called Miguel Emptis Sanchez-Baeña (read: an idiot whose hobby is -literally- to stare at the roof) who actually pitied those 'poor heretics' who were all going to hell when we saw a mass being held at St. Paul's Cathedral in London!

Those christians kill me...:D
Btw, he is now in the army, 'cos he decided to pursue a military career - and has made it to leftenant now!

Regards,
Keoland

Just thought i'd mention this: double-cliking on sliders locks them, and it's easier to adjust them. Same applies for budget sliders.

Might I also add that when you recapture a province that you own from either rebels or an enemy your tolerance for that provinces' religion will go up unless you have it locked.--See Hjarg's comment--
