So I learned recently that you can't change to your capital culture. So I was wondering if that is the same for religion? And if it is, can a child who is educated by a person of a different faith convert to that different religion.
WEll damn, I wanted to convert all of argonia to the cult of hircine, I have the courtiers and eveything. Oh well.I believe that you can convert to your current ruler location's religion, I've seen it pop up before while my character was commanding armies. But I've never seen anyone convert religion or culture through education.
But I assumed Daedric Cults would be one of the easiset religions to convert to, given their universality. You can convert religion in a variety of ways (such as to your liege's religion, or the religion of your character's location, like Dwemer said), but if you're playing as an Argonian and your religion is Hist, conversion options will be scanty if not totally unavailable. They're the one exception as far as I know (it's in place to reflect the Argonians' very unique belief system and rituals, which are so culturally ingrained that being an Argonian and following the Hist rituals are nearly one and the same). I believe all other religions can be converted away from, however.
What if I want to convert to 'The Way' the religion of the Grey Beards? I can to place my character in High Hrothgar, I can not swear fealty as the Grand Master is unlanded and I can not give him land. Is there any way to join The Way?
Sweet, what are the conditions for this pilgrimage?

So is it accurate that you cannot change the education of a Child through Education or is it just less likely than the base game?
I've yet to ever have a single child switch religion to that of their tutor, and I have tried in many games. No trouble at all doing it in base game, it must not be a feature in Elder Kings.
It is prolly a hap hazard attempt at slowing down the insain propogation of interspecies marriages. I have not yet started conquering outside my culture/religion sence the last update, but before, it was nutts, wood elves, marying the conquered Kajities women, Aldmeri all eventually getting the impure trait, ect ect. If this change helps stop all that, I'm for it, but they should also put in an alternate way to change culture, only available to the PC.
My apologies, haphazard was the wrong word. This mod is a master piece being created by true artists and fellow ES fans. I meant only I feel it to be an excessive fix, excessive because I have tried for generations in multiple games with hordes of children to get a culture switch, I think it has happened for religion once, but I am never trying, accept to get a child tutored by the grey beards to become 'The Way', otherwise I simply visit the nearest county with the religion I desire. But for example, recently, I started as the count of Ravan, and eventualy switched my species to Orc, switching to the Cult of Malacath was no prob, but after like 5 generations of waiting for one of my hordes of children to switch culture to Orc, I concluded it was impossible. I choose only tutors with the gregarious trait, who were independent rulers, and did not have any of the countering traits, to no avail. Its excessive if after so many generations it just simply did not happen. I was trying to play an Orc game with the feudal government, as I find the malacath code gov tedious. I concluded that culture switching was turned off to prevent me from doing just that.
