Coptic deserves to live. Buddhism sucks for all of the before mentioned reasons. @TheMeInTeam i acknowledge your point that these threads cant be relied upon for objective analysis. But I still think they can be a good starting point for a proper assessment.

I agree. But i think that its not completely fucked when it comes down to it. In the end of the day the list is at the very least a rough sketch of the quality of the choices given

It really isn't. From a strength-of-evidence standpoint these threads have none. People are voting based on what they like and with incomplete knowledge. These threads have repeatedly shown poor predictive value for what the strongest options in the game are, and better predictive value for usage lol.

Ihave to play a budism gam to test out the Karma mechanics (aka -> dont conquer everything and his neighbour! as far as i remember )
Funny how the almost non existing Religions (no country or even Province in regular games exist with having them) dont get down voted I guess Religions not usually played/expirienced by the players are simply ignored by them

Coptic down - only Christian Religion with out distinct mechanics.
Protestant up - as every new religion mechanic introduced: more Op then the other Mechanics introduced before (aka Religions, once all done, need a serious rebalancing)

The Resluts represent a subjective assement of the Player base view on the Religions, not a pure Objective Ranking.
Esp. since many boni/mali are situation dependent (and play style/play goal) so an objective assesment would yield no clear results anyway.

Coptic doesn't belong with the others you mentioned. Sure, it's easily the worst Christian religion in the game, but it's still a Christian religion. You still get 2 TTF, and you still get missionaries from up to 3 holy cities alongside some of the game's better conversion power from decisions. In other words, Coptic nations are stable and can convert several times faster than many of the other faiths. It's a middling faith at worst; Hindu's bonuses are stronger for example but can't keep pace with fast expansion so you have to take steps to offset tanking your unity. With Coptic? Nah, just burn through everything like it's nothing converting it all, just like the other (stronger) Christian faiths.

Seriously, Coptic at 13 while Judaism and Zoro are pathetically weaker and while it outconverts all non-Abrahamic religions is pretty lulzy-bad. I really do question how many people voting here have really used all of these religions ^_^.

I think Judaism and Zoroastrian have a cushion that needs to be considered - they're insignificant enough that most people more or less forget that they're in the game and their flaws attract little ire, while everyone knows (bear in mind that this doesn't mean that they're right about all of them) that Buddhism, Confucian, -ism pagans, and Coptic blow, so they downvote the stuff they know is bad and upvote whatever they like. Judaism and Zoroastrian will probably drop out quickly once the more prominent sub-par (or at least sub-top-tier) religions drop out.

Since this is becoming quite heated, here's my reasoning: I'm sure Ibadi is not the worst religion on the poll, but I'm only voting on religions I've played or fully understood. Maybe Karma is horrible - never bothered with it, so I can't judge it. I do know that given Shia and Sunni alternatives that I would never ever choose Ibadi, so down it goes.

Giving negative points to Shinto due it having no special mechanics and very little events, especially after you remove the Japanese only events. Also while the morale bonus is indeed quite strong, it is not very unique.

Whereas Sikh has powerful passive bonuses and the guru system gives also a nice benefits and makes the religion a bit more interesting.
