i think its good idea for stellaris this can do more hard diplomacy and can be a tool to unite a different race or do it more hardcore
its can be awsome when your civilization find in ruin a forgotten faith and start to worship and mb summoner something new in this world
yea its so hard create it in realise but mb add this in DLC ?

ps my eng so bad cause iam rus so sry eng community for this terrible grammar

There are religions in Stellaris, at least with the spiritual ethos.

Religions seems to pretty abstract in Stellaris. The problem with other religions is that this would make the creation screen a lot more complex. Do your race believe in one big religion, several large ones, many small faiths or something more complex like humans? Then you'd have you to choose what these religions would be about, their names and such. With all these planets in the galaxy there would be so many faiths that they would feel insignificant, and you'd not remember their names at all. Religions would be this complex mechanic that most would not bother to care about, and thus few things changes when we have an abstract etho such as "Spiritual" instead. What you mentioned about discovering a religion within an ancient tomb would work just as fine with some abstraction.

hm yes it's true but but hope see a simple version a religion like ancient religions 3-5 in all galaxy they will be managed computer and they will focus on the same planet or station at the head with a small ancient race and this religions will compete in a galaxy (like a crusader king 2 - Catholicism with a dad (google cant tranclate hope yo undestand)) and they can give some traits or technology

Religion would be too hard to model, especially if you assume that each race could have more than one single religion that dominates. (Maybe if you assumed all aliens were as religiously unified as they were politically, it could work, but that seems a bit unlikely.) But a cultural victory / game would be good to include, which could acknowledge that religion is also a part of culture....i,e. "Monks from the K'Blurkin Sect of your people have begun preaching to the alien slaves, should we allow this?"

No: The slaves would gain nothing from studying the higher truths...(slaves only work in the factories)

Yes: Perhaps some of them are worthy of walking in K'Blurkin's Dark Embrace. (some slaves allowed to join military

And then you could have event chains, ect, that would effect culture, slave revolts, foreign relations, religious schism if the monks violate your orders, whatever...but it would really be a cultural thing and not a straight religious thing.

Religion is a big part of culture, more over it is something that has been asked and I think Paradox is aware that people want religion in the game. So it may be in a future DLC.

Even if it isn't in the base game, I do plan on at least talking about it in my AAR, since I already have 3 Religions in the empire: Raksasan Polytheism, Solarianism, and Satishism. :p

It makes Sense for the most other (historical) Paradox-Games, to have such Issues like "Culture" or "Religion", because We have the (historical) References (to choose) from our Species ...

But, I would be careful for That for a futuristic 4X-Game like Stellaris.

I think there should be a 'creed' mechanic, for ideology/religion, for the sole purpose of recreating the Origin from Stargate and do that as a run through. It doesn't have to be anything fancy, but something to say "accept our creed or else!" style diplomacy.

Tempted to do a basic mod for my version. Basically, you have a modifier flag that you have the religion/creed and pops can obtain them, and it brings advantages, disadvantages and a couple of new diplo options.

Religion doesn't mean "believing in something". That's deism. Compare to other Paradox games : It means that there are clerics (specific pops like in V2), religious orders (those piety mecs in CK2 or states in EUIV), specific bonus and game mechanics...
So yeah, it can be partially covered by the "spiritualist" ideology, but many religions aren't spiritualistic, or fanatic. It can be a specific cast, monastic orders... There is plenty of stuff, and it's always intertwined with other kinds of things. And sometimes it's not interesting to translate religions into gameplay (what does it change that this E.T. thinks that Protchy is the god of war ?).
Personnality cult can be considered as a religion (I think it's the case in Warhammer 40K ? not sure), maybe it's already in Stellaris.

What Zupanicarr. The God-Emperor of mankind has brought piece to the galaxy and then sacrificed his body for the Imperium. All who do not worship Him shall be branded as a heretic and all heretics shall be purged in the Holy Flame.

It's be too much work for the Devs. I mean, think about what customizing a religion entails. Yes it's a cool feature but you'd have to choose whether or not it's Pantheistic, Monotheistic, Polytheistic or even Agnostic. Then you have to choose whether nor not it's organized and then if there's a religious head. The religious head would be tricky, as you have to choose whether or not it's a God King or a high-Priest divorced from political matters. Finally, you have to choose whether or not it's the sole faith of your race. That's a lot, don't forget that each of those stats would need to be represented in gameplay somehow.

It's a cool idea, but in my opinion it'd work better as a DLC or even a expansion as we all want to recreate Holy Terra in the name of teh Emprah.

I also gotta give kudos to my fellow posters here. On a forum I frequent, the local fedoras had a massive meltdown as soon as religion was even mentioned and started attacking the guy like he insulted their mother or something.

I think religion should be categorized into types of beliefs such as Polytheism, Monotheism, Dualism, Pantheism, Animism(Naturism), Ancestor Worship, Spiritism, Totemism. Similar to a species outlook on other species weather xeonphobe or xeonphile Religion could range from non-tolerance to tolerance of other beliefs.
