I like to play with a variety of religions but there doesn't seem to be a list anywhere of what each religion's rules does, which can screw me over if for example I'm playing as a custom female Eight Divines ruler who doesn't come with a son (because matrilineal marriage isn't allowed). There's no way to foresee this because as far as I can see there is no documentation about what the rules are for each religion. Please tell me I'm mistaken and that these rules are documented somewhere so I can actually understand the game I'm playing.

Part of the issue is that the SVN version is not compatible with Conclave, and .16 is in no way compatible; that' why you couldn't matrimarry, due to the changes made to things like matrilineal marriage restrictions. That should go away soon.

What versions of CK2 are you playing on? Beyond that, what culture are you? In 0.1.6, Eight Divines characters of most cultures can most definitely marry matrilineally. As far as a religion guide goes, no. There might've been one a while ago, but not anymore as far as I'm aware. I was working on a religion guide (which was primarily focused around Daedric mechanics) but lost the file and have been too busy to start from scratch.

EDIT: You can learn a lot about specific religious and cultural mechanics by referring to the mod files themselves, in the Common folder. "Common/religions" folder and "Common/laws/succession laws" file contain most religious and culture info.
