I was wondering what the factors for religious and cultural absorption is, so I took a look in the events folder. I couldn't find the event for cultural absorption, but I managed to find the religious one. I'm not excactly an expert in reading those event trees, but as far as I could tell, the province in question has to be next to a province with your state religion. Can anyone confirm this, and if so does that mean that the religion of islands can never change? Btw, it seems that the governors charisma plays no role, contrary to what I thought (but once again, I may have misread the tree, or overlooked something).

Also, if anyone has managed to find the cultural absorption event, I'd like to hear what you make of it.

I think in the strategy guide it says that charisma matters when it is over 4 and a lot when it is over 7.

Cultural absorption:

The province must have a governor and his charisma must be greater than 1. The province's civilization value must be less than 90.

There's also something about barbarian power, and I think barbarian power has to be less than 1 (i.e. zero) in order for the event to fire, but there are also modifiers that make the event take longer to fire with more barbarian power and less time to fire with less barbarian power, which wouldn't make sense if you could only get the event with 0 barbarian power.

The other modifiers involve governor charisma, province population, civilization value, and religion.

The event is in "colonies.txt" or whatever, by the way.
