Hi everyone, I'm considering buying Victoria at the moment, but would like to know - in the game, can you release vassals and play them as you can in EUII? Does anyone know?

Yes, a released vassal is all that, but it also seems to be a technological equal to the master, which is a huge bonus. I would say it is ok to play, it lags behind until you build up some stocks and a little bit of economy, but it's not too bad.Van_Lijhnardt said:yes you can release vassals (Cuba, Australia, Finland, Poland, Serbia,Scotland, Ireland and so on)
but you have no prestige and no ressources in your warehouse (it implies that you have to buy everything, that's very expansive, usually you get a lot of debts unless the vassal has already some industries)
but i repeat there should be a mod, to play such countries without having to load your savegame and with it you should begin with some ressources

EDIT: Especially if you're playing as Java. You'll be the country with the highest tech level in that region.
Only if you declare war on them and fight your way to independence. But satellite is Vic is not like EU, you don't pay the master anything. And I don't think there is a prestige penalty either (can anyone confirm this?).Cinéad IV said:So if, say, I was to play as a vassal, would I be able to declare complete independence from the other nation?
