Hello guys. No offense to anyone, I think only the best of all of you devs and admins, but I also think it is highly unprofessional having a release date of a game marked as TBA or Q3 2013. THE DATE?? Please

We have updated our Community Code of Conduct. Please read through the new rules for the forum that are an integral part of Paradox Interactive’s User Agreement.
It's their prerogative to ultimately leave it open. It does allow for less pressure for their team I'm sure; if it's ready early they can ship it out just fine, and if they need the time to polish it up they can do that as well. I for one, don't mind.

You're shouting, and that second question mark has a very indignant look about it.
Indignance to indigence, angry to needy, doesn't really work too well.
Your structure's a little sloppy, and the tone not quite measured enough to be classed as professional I'm afraid... while it's true they do say, 'it takes one to know one'; when trying to shame someone else, it's best that you are, in that particular regard, faultless.
Really? Less pressure on the team while working on the game. Anyway PI is a team that prefers to take its time making quality games rather than rush it and release it with many bugs.
I would rather have Paradox take their time than release another game that's in the state HOI3 was when it was released. Q3 is a perfectly reasonable window for now. I expect a more precise timeframe sometime in May.

Is that how you think this works? Paradox decide not to announce an exact date, but one random guy calling them unprofessional will somehow make them change their corporate strategy?

ya its the exact opposite of being professional to have a definite release date for a game. Having helped developed a game (non-commercially) I know its impossible to know to the last day or even month when your going to be finished.
If you set yourself up for a precise month/day/year deadline your just gonna disappoint people when you go past it due to unforeseen complications or more bug testing needing to polish the game. Its never early either because if you finish what you set out to do originally by some miracle more ideas to make the game better are implemented then needing fixes and bug testing to get them ready.
A true game developer is never satisfied with the end result of his work always wishing to improve it but constrained by economic realities and etc. Hence the Q time launch deadlines since their literally in a entire fiscal quarter. Its far more professional than having to continually release new dates for sale of the game engendering genuine confusion by your customers or make the finished product an inferior one by rushing at the last minute to meet an arbitrary deadline.

And, IMO, actually knowing the release date this early does nothing. It would still be few months away.

He's registered on the forums. It's just a little hard to understand how somebody could be so excited about the imminent arrival of EU4 when they don't even have EU3. This is a bit of a niche market after all.
I obviously meant register PI games you have bought, here on the forum.
Right or wrong, showing the proof that you actually played such games helps your view to be seen as...'more significant'.

I couldnt care less what the release date is, as long as it is in a good playable state.
I am honestly sick to death of game companies releasing stuff that is unplayable, then having to wait months for patches to bring it up to date (Simcity you are the latest that I am looking at).
Now I know Pdox posted somewhere that they were really taking seriously to release games which work and have features as advertised after HOI3, and I hope they stay true to this vision.

In a recent video Johan said most probably early or mid Q3. We can always hope for july (would be so perfect in my summer holiday), but my guess goes for august.

I'm prretty sure this is industry standard. If this irks you then hopefully you never become a fan of Valve or Blizzard.
