EB listes the release date at Nov. 12, Amazon Mid. Nov, this seems quite soon. I was wondering if Paradox could give a realistic release date?

Im sure ive seen the release date being sometime in 2003!! Have Paradox brought it forward?
It's was last quarter of 2002 lately, but first quarter 2003 would be more realistic I guess...
well sometime before 2003 starts would be a logical time to release it. whether the game is ready then? i dont know. but some of my friends would get a game like hoi for christmas but not buy it themselves.
If EUII is anything to go by then the European release will be 2003. The North American release will be late 2002.
I do hope that this time we will see a simulaneous release unlike EU2. Although if I understood it correctly this is not for Paradox to decide but the local publishers. Well, one can still hope.
Why game made in europe are having a euro release later than a US release is beyond me...
Time to adapt to different language version might be part of the problem but still Start Wars episode 2 had a worldwide simultanious release, if it's possible for a movie, how hard can it be for a game ?

It will no doubt be up to the pubilishers and no doubt it will be a simultaneuos release accross Europe. Which will hold up release as the localisation is done. This does keep Patric in a job though.
It's hard for a movie too! (The reason the simultaneous worldwide release of SWII got so much press was because it was highly unusual ...)
Remember that at least some of the delay on the euro EU2 release were translation issues.
Amazon says Oct. 26th. They were right about EU2, and I'm sure they're right about HoI as well, although I'm sure Patric doesn't want to go out on a limb and say 'This day will for sure be the day'.

An important warning here is that all these dates are merely ESTIMATED times for when the game will be released. There is no guarantee that the game will be released at any of these times and the actual time of release will depend on how beta testing proceeds. Note: I am in no way commenting on when I actually believe the time that the game will be in stores will be.
Then again, EU1 came out in Europe in the fall of 2000, & not in North America until February 2001 (but I think that was more of a problem with finding a NA publisher than a conscious decision to release in Europe first).
Remember that mostly every game company this close to christmas want to release the game before the rush so sometime in November. Though since Paradox had a great success with EU2 they and Strategy.First might decide that the game and it's name it's strong enough to survive post-christmas release (like if Warcraft 3 was launched on Jan 5th I'm pretty sure the sales would still just as good, but that is an extreme example). But of course I'm only estimating and guessing here

Paradox now have a long term agreement with SF. I think they will get the game first, then the European distributer(s) gets the game and starts localising.
The Scandinavian one was. For both the EU and EU2 release, they sure are merging alot

And yes they only had a German and Scandinavian publisher when it went Gold for the German market. The Scandinavian publsiher was in a merger so they was a bit delayed (much delayed for Norway and Denmark)
