I'm not trying to spread rumours, but gameshadow.com claims very confidently that the US release date for HOI3 is 2 July 2009.

It's just a guess based on the officially announced "Q3 2009" release estimate.

I like to look at how long it took for other games. I think it was EU3 (Can’t exactly remember) and I first spotted it at about this time of year and it came out the next January/February so I would take a guess of being able to play this sometime between mid December and early March.

Again, the official announcement says "Q3 2009"; I certainly wouldn't expect it by March.

June 2nd is in Q2 2009, so GameShadow are probrably just guessing. The weird thing is that they have also invented a plausible cover as well.

sorry but who gives a rats arse what one or any American newspaper publishes? At that point only Germany and Poland were at war, and no one knew what the other Western Powers were even going to do. There was even Japan at war with Russia and also with China for several years, involving much larger populations and fighting in much much larger territories, why wasnt that coined ww2? Truly it can only be considered world war 2 on the 3rd September 1939 when countries on every continent bar one was engaged in the war with/against Germany.

Not that I care about when the game is released, and do also agree that 1st September would be just as fitting.

Of course you can argue with 99,9% of historicians.

I would like to remind you that French and British were not involved into the war until Germans came to France to kick their lazy coward butts. So maybe we can agree that the war started when Japan Empire DOW USA? That's the moment when all continents were involved and we can call this war Worldwide.

Another thing is that the Russia was not in war with Japan.
