Assuming that EU4 will continue development into the future, I propose that a vision statement be released, similar to that of Crusader Kings III: https://forum.paradoxplaza.com/forum/index.php?threads/dev-diary-0-the-vision.1265472/

The goal of having a vision statement is for the aims of the developers to be clear to the players. These points can be used to then justify gameplay changes and will aid the player to create more impactful suggestions.

I have concluded that under the previous game director, EU4 lacked vision, and thus the content and rules were often at odds with each other, to the detriment of fun gameplay. If a vision statement was known to both the developers and the community, it would help temper expectations and reactions to changes.

If, for example, the vision statement was about tall play and limited conquests, the decisions made in certain previous patches would be understood to follow that, but if the vision statement was about empire and wide conquests, the decisions would be understood as a break with that. The context is important.

This! It would make things so much easier than always having to guess what the vision for the game might be, and would certainly help to ease some of the toxicity and discord that such misunderstandings often lead to. Great suggestion!
