I am amazed at the detail and the amount of work the CORE group has committed to this project. It is extremely well done. The scenarios and the campaign games are great fun. As always CORE enhances the game greatly and well beyond the initial efforts of the original designers.

I ask only one critical question: Why do we need individual ship representation for transports, DD's, subs and even MTB's? These should be squadrons or flotillas, as are the aircraft units

This extreme micro-detail takes away from the grand scheme of the event.

Thanks for all of the hard work!

The only subs acting in flottilla were the wolfpacks, IIRC. As it is I do like the individual ship representation, as it gives much more flavour to the navies of all parties involved. And now the player can decide how to use them, either in flottilla or piecemeal. ;)

Me. I like the individual representation for the larger ships. Even some of the medium ships. However, for the smaller ones, this is annoying and frustrating.

Micromanagement = evil, and there is already too much micromanagement going on in HOI.

I think that the changes to the convoy system was negatively impacted by this as well. ie, too many convoys without the increased detection ability to offset these changes. ie, in one of my games the entire German, Italian and Spanish navies (+400ships w/naval bombers), took 4 months to destroy +1000 Greek tpts in a single seazone.

Not criticism - I am v-pleased at the overall CORE product, just suggestions for refinements to come...

I'll buy into the sub logic. Although, wolfpacks are not the point. Group assignments were carried out in a specific geographical area regardless of whether they attacked as pack, or not.

DD's, MTB's operated as flotillas or squadrons, by design.

Individual ships require just enough micromanagment that it's just easy to overlook specific missions per ship while engaged in a major front elsewhere.

I am not unhappy with any of the current aspects of the current CORE. I will learn to live with it if that is the way the final product ends up!

Not likely to change, after all the effort MateDow put in... Besides, I like the DD's and MTB's having real names instead of 'flottilla'. :)
