I've notice that when you lose a war and a nation gets released you will lose your cores on that land. I think if its same culture you don't or something like that.

But anyway. I suggest this be changed.
Reasons are:
1) that you paid monarch points to core or diplo-annex that land. So its a big investment.
2) if your opponent were to just take your land then your cores would still be there. Even if they decided to release a nation aftewards. So there is a logic problem.
3) Its a real damper on desire to play after losing a war. With cores I can at least wait for the next war to try and get them back, provides some revenge incentive.
4) what is wrong with the usual core going away after 50years? That mechanic seems fine. So if a nation gets released your cores should stay, if you can't reconquer that core in 50 years then its gone.
5) Wouldn't it help the AI determine where best to attack? In single player when I take on a big nation I usually make them release a nation so they lose their cores. It usually means they never reconquer it unless they get a militaristic ruler. As soon as its released I'm like "well, I don't have to worry about them for the next 100years".

If you really want the cores to be gone upon releasing a nation then add that as extra to peace deal. - release nation and remove cores on those provinces.
