Yes, that is correct. The intention was that anyone who pre-ordered get the "I pre-ordered" forum badge, but there turned out to be no way to distinguish codes issued before and after the release date. The forum software could only make a distinction on the date of actual registration. Sorry about that, the best intentions and all that.

Sadly yes that is correct, we had to change it to an early registration Medal rather than a pre-order icon because of the technical limitation of steam. We could have looked at changing the name, but most people that pre-ordered and use the forums would have registered it right away and so it would make no difference to them. Unfortunately it did not work out as well for a few and I apologize if you got caught in that.
