Who is John Galt?

When my ruler died, he left his 6-year-old son to rule the Roman Empire. Crown authority is high, but I kept getting a new regent until one lowered it to medium. I saved the game right before this, fortunately. What would be the best way to prevent this? I'm considering having him assassinated, but I don't know if the next regent will do the same. My character is 10 right now. I could also get the emperor killed, which would put his adult heir on the throne, but lower vassal opinions. What would be the best way to handle this?

Thanks.

Thanks! I bribed him and he never did it.

I would have let it happen.

Then, when you come of age, revoke ALL the Duchies and re-grant them, you'll already have the long-reign bonus so you can do it and even re-grant back to the same people, or to their brothers if they'll make better Counsellors or generals.

In one fell swoop, you've broken everyone's Primogeniture rights, in a generation or two all those Douxes will be down to one county and your caprice as Emperor to assign the role of Doux will know no bounds!

*Insert evil laughter here*

Regency problems? There are no regency problems except for the fact that regency is one giant problem. It's the most terrifying part of CK2. It's the one thing that can undo centuries of hard work and patience while you have to sit back and just take it because there's basically nothing you can do. If a larger and more powerful realm declares war on you you can do many things to try to stop it... raise levies, hire mercenaries, call in allies, attempt assassinations...

But regencies? ******* terrifying. Not a thing you can do. Fill your council with unlanded courtiers and give them all titles and bribes to raise their opinion of you. Give your regent some titles and a bribe to do the same for him. The bastard will still push through a law to lower your crown authority, right before your vassals demand that you do the same via faction plot.

Think you'll be able to wait for sweet revenge? Think again. You won't be able to revoke duchies for the entire reign of your ruler that's under a regency because he won't be able to raise crown authority again in his lifetime... so no revoking duchies. Even if you have them imprisoned and you have the right to revoke their goodies you won't be able to. It's infuriating.

I hear you on that one and another problem I am facing is the dangerous faction issue where these guy are amassing more troops than top limit for the freaking kingdom I am ruling, small kingdom with 12,500 troops (of which 7000 our mine) to raise total and these vassal are gather 15,000 to 21,000 troops, where are they coming from? Even if I raised all troops available, I am still minus the rebel vassals troops which somehow have multiplied like rabbits. It is a no win situation and very frustrating to play, all my hours of work are becoming undone in minutes. Also ironman game does not allow me to cheat the game back for its cheating on me........
