Regency and Clothing? Heck, yeah!

I’m a vain man in love with period clothing and any expansion to the portrayal of soft power in game.

Any last minute predictions? I’m hoping for more chances not to take the throne, but to work as the skulking peacock in the shadows. I hope we can even be regent for other players in MP. I’d love to take care of the mundane day to day of the realm while my liege is off war mongering.

I'm really hoping for a new outfits showcase in one of the upcoming diaries. I know it's unpopular on the forums to be excited about visuals but I'd be lying if I said I weren't. If they went into detail like the FoI one where they showed some places where they got inspiration from that'd be even better.

I believe that the dislike of visuals is some sort of unfortunate result of fellow nerds being afraid to be too Ren Fair adjecent. Embrace the LARP!

More seriously, I believe some of the blowback to visuals is partially valid (“please don’t waste resources on something i value less than this other thing”), but a non-zero part of it is tied up in an anti-pleasure/beauty streak that gets into far more serious things than my silly thread is set up for.

I for one I am quite excited for the fashion part and I don't get why people are so against it here. At least CK3 tries to model some historically accurate clothes instead of some bland Hollywood Medievalesque style where everyone has that uninspired leather-made, dark and boring clothing style that pop culture makes everyone think people in the past wore. Although as a Medievalist Historian focused on the 15th century I may have a bias here.

the steam page for T&T mentions an "evolution of armor and clothing from the early to late middle ages". which implies it'll actually change with the era changing in game. i really hope that's true!

That would be great. I also enjoy the clothing. One thing i wish is the ability to choose the color of clothing and some kind of representation from the region, for example if i am the king of france the fleur-de-lis will be in my clothing and armor.
