Dear friend, I said both old and new world, consider south america, central america, or the race politics and problems of the USA, 20-30-50 years, it looks much worse than what happened in Yugoslavia. Or do you consider only anglo-saxon sphere as 'The West'?

I unfortunately find it the opposite, the Americans tend to try and tell us how to function. Which I do not like. Well I don't believe in the past 50 years there have been civil wars based on an ethnic-religious issue in America. But South America on the other hand is very bad. And i have not had the pleasure of visiting Slovenia, only Bosnia-Herz

I'm a die-hard Herzegovinian nationalist (internal balkan joke), if such a thing exists. I'm so happy that the Neretva river has made it's appearance on the EU4 map.
Im not saying Balkanists are worse, I think all nationalism is bad to begin with, it leads to ethnocentrism. What I am saying is it is magnified by 10 in the balkans, because it literally is bloodshed. It really is magnified there, I do not mean the fervent passions, I mean the actions taken. Not that I'm saying the IRA, is not doing the same thing, it is just not on such a large scale.

I actually complete agree with you.I would also say that all people can be equally nationalistic, but because of some recent events nationalism is magnified here.Sometimes it seems to me that many people here are still stuck in the 19st century mindset.
Well I am intrigued to hear more than one point of view, and from someone localized, and I would agree many people's can be overnationalistic equally. A random example is the Chinese PRC, vs. Japan over those islands at the moment, nationalism is driving them to do silly things, scary things. I do hold a pseudo-bias with Balkan nationalists, for the sole fact I have had to face it in person.
In my opinion hyper nationalism can be cured with 1.Education: By educating yourself more you will understand that your country did not win those 14 century battles because soldiers of your glorious nation were blessed by god or something.
2.having more contact with foreigners.
By having more contact with people from around the world you can understand that your country is not in fact the center of the universe, there are other people who think that their country is just as cool as yours.
Of course this is all just my experience, couple of years ago I was quite nationalistic myself, so I can understand how average nationalist thinks.

lol. Or the internet in general, however even around all this diversity, and education that is for FREE on the internet, people still find a way to be ignorant, and bigoted. But I suppose it will change in time
You Herzegovinians are a lovely bunch.
Basically in my free time (when im not modding Paradox stuff) im a Chairman of the Committee for promotion of Independent Republic of Transnaguzimtestan which is a project with territorial pretensions toward all ex yu states (just for the lulz). Weve had some very nice letters of moral support from Herzegovina, and so, as a sign of superior solidarity, we now attend all hot e-debates and fiercely support our brethren in Herzegovina on all important youtube channels.

It will come with age, I was once that way when I was a little boy, delusions of French/German grandeur, when we are just a shell of what once was. Though a major issue I faced as an enfant was the fact that my mother, and father country both have ripped eachother apart for ages, which I have now gotten over, and live in the present.

I thought, well, if Pope can take Austrias color and throw in banana tint, then i can take Croatia's white, use it as a base and throw in a bit of red tint. Kind of inspired by chessboard thingy.
Great map. While I'm sure you get some heat from some people even still, it is a much better map than Paradox's.
BTW, I hope EU4 has more depth to its regional representation, better than CK2 had. But still I understand fully Paradox for avoiding regional claims and making a map that upsets everybody instead of going for one argument over others. Too foggy period of history to know.
