So, I want Finland as a march, and I want them to be as powerful as they can. The question though, is Neva/St Petersburg, should I let Finland have it or make it my capital? Yes, I am Russia right now.

You can feed them as much land as you want now, they'll take anything as long as they're nt overextended too much (not sure what the exact value is. So you could just feed them all of sweden .

I will feed them lappish regions since they are "accepted" culture anyway, finnmark and Lappland, but Neva is considered part of Finland so I don't know if I want it... Is the decision for getting St Petersburg that good?

It's an awesome march, has +1 attrition, +15% fort defense, has awful winters and takes defensive ideas. Base attrition value for seigeing finland is 3

I always make St. Petersburg my capital and build March there by keeping Viborg a foreign province as long as possible*. It's way better to keep it fortified this way than feed your precious city to some poor minors. What a heresy!

Historically? Pretty large autonomy, actually. It's indirectly proved by the fact how quickly they became independant upon revolution of 1917.

Moreover, when the reformation begins nationalist rebels take over in Sweden and Finland unites again even without direct military intervention. I usually keep Ingernmanland to myself just for larget naval FL. Patriarch authority and tolerance help to counter non-accepted culture.

Well yes, but it seems as they made vassals more useful with marches, maybe I can skip going for tolerance?
