If becoming a Duke gives me a Ducal Claim to all the counties in my de jure duchy, why doesn't becoming a King give me a Regal (Royal?) Claim to all the duchies in my de jure kingdom?
I had the same question because as the king of Castille, once I got the kingdom of Aragon some of it had been taken by the HRE, and I can't even declare war on them for it without making another claim. Kinda weird.
Would you want the AI always having a claim on you whenever you take land from their de jure kingdom?
I think I understand why regal claims don't exist now.
Well I'm speaking only from game play experience, and I did not check this in game files so you are probably right... I have had a few rebelling barons when I revoked their titles in order to grant them to sons to get rid of prestige hit.
BTW I find it amusing that when his fief is revoked a mere baron with 216 troops defy his liege who has much more (1k or 2k troops, few allies such as France, HRE) and a war chest of 500 gold (=minimum 250 mercenaries or so). Perhaps he knows something we cannot grasp.
Very interesting story, never happened to me as I do not like having a liege and either start as independent or leave HRE/liege ASAP (though the Emperor sends his 10k courtiers and begs me to stay so I sometimes don't wanna break his heart and stay till the next civ war)I am now my liege's vassal as the King of Bohemia, but I am his de jure liege as to the baronies of Stettin.I have a cassus belli to reclaim them, though I'll be damned if I'm going against the Emperor for two crummy baronies.
