How do i get rid of them?

It seems every time a neighbouring county get conquered, i have to take the beaten imbeciles...

Last example:
I am independent Duke of Calabria (Italian NOT d'Hauteville)
So the Duke of Ampulia (d'Hauteville) conquered Bari back from de Conversano.

Baam! I have a bunch of de Conversano's in my court.
Seems like the whole de Conversano and Drengot (was conquered by Naples) Family is parasiting my table.
I didn't want them, i wasn't asked!

I am not related to them, most of them hate me.
Why the hell do i have to feed them?
Is there any way to stop this nonsense?

Marry them off to foreign imbeciles?

That's what I do.

Though sometimes I can't find an unwed imbecile, so I choose a hunchback instead.

I do the exact samething. Except, if the courtier they married off to gets conquered, they comeback to my court with their children. And sometimes, these people have the celibate trait, make them impossible to kick them out of my realm.

It's really annoying having to marry/kill them off one by one. If there's way to mod this "feature" off, that would be very helpful.

Yes because if this is wad it is silly.
Can you imagine in medieval time you just knocking at a hostile foreign castle:
Hey Lord here i am, i got coquered, i am broke and i am hungry...and of course i brought my whole family.

I could imagine they had some different "ways" of handling unwanted immigrants than in modern time europe ;-)

Now i have a court full of untrustworthy foreign imbecile scum...
Feel like i am playing Lord of Lampedusa. ;-)

I don't know, nobles often successfully "parasited" on other nobles (high nobles at least) when they were down on their luck. There is a certain prestige in being able to provide for the less fortunate, and most of them were knights. I'm sure you've had the event where some nobody (noble) wants to join your household and it costs you prestige (5?) to turn him away.

I think we should either be given the choice to turn them away when they arrive, or a decision to ask them to leave. In both cases perhaps losing 5 prestige, to balance it.

The last landed Almoravid was a christian vassal of mine and when I revoked his title his whole dam family came to my court
So I had around 60 Muslims who all hated me hang out in my capital for a couple of generations, must have been akward for the emperor and the other Christians over there.

When the emperor noticed he had 4 percent chance of discovery all of them mysteriously died on the same day

Sometimes they are useful. Some of them come with strong claims that you can use to add some more territory to your realm. You could always just leave them alone and wait for the dynasty to die off.

This. Is there any penalty or harm to have them in your court? As long as they are landless, they dont present any headache imo. Even more - you can try to marry.. the one who is ugly and has - 1000% fertlility, to neighbouring king, for example

Haha, I remember a situation just like that happening in my court when the Bosonids came in droves from God-knows-where. Unfortunately, I was at war at the time and forgot about them, which led me to wake up a decade later or so and realize that my court was swelling with yapping old women and useless coots. I sent the males off to marry matrimonially to whomever was disposed to tolerate their annoying presence, but the same move was not possible with females. What to do? Well, it came to be that the peasant rabble that ruled my towns and bishoprics at that point was refusing to back the Duke, a member of my dynasty who was bred for this specific position after a hundred years of intrigue, to the throne. After his father's death, the old Count, they then elected the most popular member of my dynasty who happened to be around, one of those pleasant old ladies who everyone seems to like.

Ah, how foolish they were! I decided to avenge my foiled plans by making them pay, dearly, for this treasonous electioneering. The nice old lady arrested all the mayors and bishops, confiscated their titles and banished them from the realm. Afterwards, she naturally voted the Duke as her successor and there was no one left to oppose—elections work so well when you round up the opposition and send them to the dungeons! Now that succession was secure, our dearest leader decided to solve the Bosonid problem that had turned her court into a wretched nursing home. She arrested every single one of them who was past breeding age or who was otherwise useless, seized their property and banished them forever. The castle of Carcassonne was very, very still once the process was over.

Naturally, everyone hated our precious Countess after her hate-binge, but she was too old to care and ended up dead not long after her infamous purge. Result? My preferred heir took over the County, bringing the Duchy into my family permanently. Also, he had the benefit of not having to deal with good-for-nothing courtiers.

tl;dr When your sovereign is old, just arrest and banish the rabble out of your court and make way for people you actually want to invite to live over there. Works best on small realms.

I had the same with the 'de Tolouse'(?) dynasty in France after they revolted and the King took their only county. I received the whole family based on the fact i was married to one of the daughters/sisters. So i think mostly families flee to where they have relatives followed by courts of same culture.
I don't mind when its a 'great' dynasty as i usually marry off the women and any useless men keeping just one or two to breed into super generals. I also like to populate holy war and other conquests with real dynasties rather than cruddy auto generated ones as much as possible as i think it keeps the flavor better (and of course they have historic COA rather than some auto generated eyesore)

Yes. There is a big harm. They kill the birthrate of your family.

At a very low threshold, your court is limited to only one child per couple. Then at some point, it's zero. Having a million imbeciles and old ladies flood your court -- which always happens -- means your heir won't be breeding until his wife is too old to have kids. It's highly annoying. Actually, sort of infuriating.

It's such a big part of the game. It's very bad. And there is absolutely nothing you can do about. I want a button that says "banish from court" to kick them out. That or a higher limit before breeding stops. I know that limit is there to prevent spamming the save file with useless courtiers and slowing down the game, but it's set far too low now. Particularly because the player is often powerless to counter-act it, at least without cheating yourself gold and then savescumming assassinations of all the people you don't want. (Yes, I've done that before. Felt good.)

I was trying to figure out how this worked too. One fine day, a whole horde of Billungs from Germany flooded into my court and I had no idea what the heck this was all about. Looking back, I realise that a Billung became HRE sometime before this influx happened, and I invited one of his sons to my court as is my usual practice. Some time after, the Billungs lost their emperorship and got their holdings revoked, resulting in all of them fleeing to the court hosting their next most senior family members, which was mine.

It wasn't a huge problem to me. Some of the younger ones were extremely talented, as is typical of an emperor's family, and the kids were quickly culture-converted through my Britannian education system. But I can see the problems that might arise if people of the wrong religion who all hate you flood into your court and there's nothing you can do about it except try to kill them off.

I'd like to know where the specifics of this have been stated. As someone who ardently invites every single person of talent or importance to my court, I definitely notice a decline in birth rate - four Princes of Sweden matrilineally married to four people from my dynasty since their early 20s, and all of them failed to produce a single kid into their 40s, while their king-brother managed to crank out kids as fast as I could kill them off.

However, it doesn't completely prevent my courtiers from reproducing, and my king and his landed sons have plenty of kids as normal - perhaps I simply haven't reached the upper limit. I find that it doesn't really hinder my gameplay as long as I continue to have the most talented people in the world and have plenty of people of my dynasty and culture to appoint as minor lords.

It only affects courtiers. So if you land someone, they will suddenly reproduce. If they stay in your court, forget it.

I think it first kicks in around 30 courtiers. The total cut off is maybe 40ish. Not sure of the exact values. Someone around here will know.

What I do know is that the cut off number is very low. Because your court includes not just your normal court. But also your prisoners. Your council. And all the kids you're educating. So add 5 dukes with council positions, 4 kids of other vassals you're educating in your court, and 5 prisoners and you're halfway to infertility before we've even started counting your real court. If you have 6 kids, a wife, 5 random old ladies hanging around, and 5 real courtiers you're already done.

Add an influx of 10 Billungs from nowhere and nobody in your family is having children for a generation.

It's way way too low. Not for a count usually without a lot of random council members and rebellious vassals in the dungeon. But definitely for a king.

There should be an option to send courtiers to the courts of your vassals and make it their problem. If you are the lord of your vassals and your courtiers, shouldn't you have the ability to move them around? Of course, evicting lesser nobles from their homes would carry an opinion penalty among the other residents (perhaps proportional to said courtier's prestige?).

It's thirty for two children per couple. I'm not aware of another limit, but there might be one.

Thirty is very easy to reach, even without refugees. This is one reason that I always try to give family members land (even baronies) to enable them to breed, because the limit doesn't apply to somebody who holds land.
