Hey everyone, so playing the demo as Venice and the date is 1517 and the Protestant reformation just kicked off. Nearly immediately Sweden and England both had one protestant province each and they both rapidly (nearly immediately) changed their state religions to Protestant. I hope this is not hardwired into the game and their is a mechanic at play, like say Papal influence and % of country being one denomination. Anyone else had similar experience here?

I just played a game as the Ottomans. England didn't switch (though the game ended in 1520, I assume that's some sort of hardcoded demo limit) to Protestant, but Denmark and Hanover did. Norway came close, but the state religion was still Catholicism last time I checked.

So no, I don't think it's hardwired at all.

Reformation happened in my Portugal game around 1508, then Sweden and England both had state religion and about one province become Protestant within a couple of years. The King of England at this time was Henry VIII Tudor, so that's fitting. Maybe DHEs are leading England and Sweden to flip so quickly?

Could be, but I can't find any reference to them if they do exist.
