Redusing all cost of Curia actions by 20% would help Catholism to be more attractive?

That doesn't stop a bunch of countries from having ideas giving +papal influence. If they convert to protestant/reformed that becomes useless aswell. Unlike religious ideas you can't choose to not have that idea if you want to play the nation.

That's a different issue. That's called railroading national ideas so that those nations 'stay' catholic.

Changing an idea group to have something only for one of many religions in the game is just a bad idea. Besides, wasn't religious changed a long time ago for this very issue?

ofc he knows it. reduce cost of papal action modifier could be as addition bonus in some ideas like Spanish Inqusition or Breton Catholicism, it could be added in events and decisions like counterreformation.

I don't think so, else he would have said something other than to change a religious idea to a catholic only idea.

Events and counter reformation style choices would work, and if they also required having some amount of religious ideas finished, then that's an ok suggestion.

Try remembering that catholic is only one religion in the game and that papal influence is useless to everyone else.
?

I don't follow. I guess you don't know but one of the religious ideas gives Papal Influence. Why couldn't another have an extra Catholic-only effect as well, or perhaps instead of this?

Not to mention that there are a few national ideas with Catholic-only effects.

I don't think so, else he would have said something other than to change a religious idea to a catholic only idea.
?
What.
I'd appreciate not lying about what others say in the future. Thank you.

For the benefit of you and others who don't know what religious ideas do:

Code:
religious_ideas = {
   category = ADM

   bonus = {
     culture_conversion_cost = -0.25
   }

   deus_vult = {
     cb_on_religious_enemies = yes
   }
   missionary_schools = {
     missionaries = 1
   }
   church_attendance_duty = {
     stability_cost_modifier = -0.25
   }
   divine_supremacy = {
     global_missionary_strength = 0.03
   }
   devoutness = {
     tolerance_own = 1
     papal_influence = 2
     devotion = 0.5
     monthly_fervor_increase = 0.25
     church_power_modifier = 0.1
   }
   religious_tradition = {
     prestige = 1
   }
   inquisition = {
     global_heretic_missionary_strength = 0.02
   }

   ai_will_do = {
     factor = 1
     modifier = {
       factor = 0
       has_idea_group = humanist_ideas
     }
   }
}

That's a Catholic-only modifier, Protestant-only modifier, Reformed-only modifier and a Theocracy-only modifier on the 5th idea.
Clearly a horrifying example of railoading anyone playing with Religious Ideas into being Catholic, Protestant and Reformed at the same time (and a Theocracy).

Ok, I'm done with sarcasm.
