I bought, however, I was planning on selling the games I already had (Ra2 and YR) which I wouldn't have any use of, however, they were'nt in different discs so I don't know if I want to sell the orginial RA2, it has a sentimental value for me :)

They lied to me in the store to, telling me it was 299:- kr, however, after I had taken out money they told me it cost 350:- kr :mad: bastards

The RA1 I was planning on buying did only cost 49:- Kr, but they didn't have it anywhere in Stockholm :(

Also, I think the USSR was broken up after RA1. If I recall correctly, the RA2 map shows the 15 republics as separate states rather than a united USSR.

I really dont think we should stick to the RA1 story too much, it wouldnt make things make sense.

I say

-Map of Europe
-Give the Soviets IC to make up for their Asian provences and to make them tough
-Early release of the mod we make the allies one nation(just so we can come out with an early release so we dont have to make a lot of new ministers and junk)
-Lower ship building times
-Allies(the actual nation "allies") get lots of ship techs
-Soviets get lots of sub techs
-Soviets get good tanks
-Allies get good infantry
-Slow down to a halt upgrade times of ships(to make the Allies not research tons of sub stuff and to make the Soviets not get lots of ship stuff)


Any other ideas? I think, as I said before, we should make their just be Allies and Soviets for a begining release and maybe some unalligned nations that will become part of the Allied nation once war is declared on.

...If we alter the map or history of either Red Alert or C&C, than it will NOT be the game we want to make a Mod for.
...there is a full book about witch Nation was allied/soviet and why, can't think of a problem not to use the full world map.
...I hope you don't think there will be only 2 'nations': allied and Soviet. We need to alter things, mostly national flags for other Countries too, but they all remain there. (except some they will be annexed, or is there some events for it later in-game)
...idea with tech-s is nearly perfect, i think about it later :)

Well I'm talking about RA not RA2, and I don't think there were any battles fought by the player (and I can't think of any battles mentioned in the intros to missions) that were fought outside Europe in Red Alert. Were there?

Not many, but yes. Also some 'westwood books' mention some asian fights and african ones too

Jorian, have you checked my tech suggestion for a RA2 MOD in the begningin if this thred (page 4 iirc) if you haven't, you should take a look and tell me what you think :)

A bit of topic: In RA2 every mission briefing is a movie, in RA1 every (almost) briefing is a text, is it supposed to be like that or have they done something with RA1 in the 'The First Decade' box? :confused:

All of the game was fought in Europe, but why not expand it to the world? We can actually give that "United Front Against Soviet Aggression" event a use! Make Communist China make the critical choice of loyalties: to stand with the Communists, or to stand with the Chinese.
