Taking an entire post just for me to say, "woop woop" might be considered spam.
That being said, I do recant on the idea of having the Soviet rebellion being a group of partisans; Allied-supported Polish militia sounds just fine. The main thing is that it would have to take place after the main war started, or perhaps just after Poland gets incorporated into the USSR (in order to get the map up to Red Alert's starting look).
As for changing the name to "Red Dawn"... everything else is staying the same. We're even keeping "Kane's" name in it, I believe, and we'll probably be using Westwood's images for some of the ministers. So long as we're not making money off of it, is it really an issue?
Also, "Red Dawn" is the name of a Sealab 2021 episode already.

Well giant Soviet squids are kind of out there. Same with free world dolphins. Mind controll is also. Hmm anything else I missed? I am very sure I missed a lot of things.

BTW, I was just playing RA2 and I took a look at the intro (probably the best intro in the world btw) and it got me thiniking of something, if we make a RA2 scenario (which I belive we should) the U.S.S.R should be a puppet or atleast allied with the USA, as President Dugan mention that in the intro, he says "We're supposed to be allies you maniac"

I've got Windows XP SP2 and I can't play Red alert 1 (RA2 works fine) without starting it in "DOS mode", but then the graphics are really bad and no sound Too bad for such a great game... I especially love seeing the in-game cinematics, especially the intro for RA2

EA has just released a DVD containing all the command and conquer games including expansions and even the first person shooter. Its called command and conquer: the First decade and all the games will now run in XP. It may be of interest to you all for your mod.

well I would think the tech tree would be extreamly simlar if we take out the tesla junk since this is an alternate WW2.
Whoa, remember that this is Red Alert 1 we're dealing with.
For Red Alert 2, we need the USA and Allies to smash the Soviets in "World War 2" and make them a puppet (as someone mentioned earlier).
I haven't really played that game, but a lot of the politics seem off. For instance, I read somewhere that the Soviets controlled Mexico as one of their satellite states. How... in the world... would a defeated, puppetized Soviet Union be granted dominance over a Western Hemisphere nation that borders the U.S.?
The U.S. has always been psycho about who goes nosing around in the Western Hemisphere. Monroe Doctrine, and all that. No freaking way.
