Well I just got in from work. Got off a little early but it looks like you guys are well into the session. I'll be here to try to pick up a rehost. Did you find a sub for me?

EDIT: If I do miss a rehost or you guys end session please post stats ASAP. I'm dying to know whats going on.

EDIT #2: I'm just posting my available playing times for next week. The GMs can sort it out.

Sunday: All day
Wednesday: All day
Thursday (Thanksgiving): I could play, but it would have to start 2-3 hours later than usual.

Fnuco suggested Mon-Tue to me, which I cant do until 10:30pm ET, which is far too late for those in Europe I fear. I guess thats it. Have a good weekend!

Uls could have used the help!

Nah, he did great. He took out The russian leader(begins with an S) right at the start, took out Austria's two leaders, did a whole lot of damage.

It just seems impossible to win with them unless NL and USA are both human players. You get war exhaustion going very high, England with a HUGE economy and great leaders, Russia with virtually unlimited manpower, and add to that Prussia and Austria, and it seems you can't conclusively win.

Now, if you had an experienced NL and USA it may be possible to win, but England's economy would have to be crippled very fast. USA take a great majority of their colonial possession in NA while NL harasses their other colonial holdings. I could also see a French invasion of Britain's mainland stopping Britain's ability to have a massive army under the control of Wellington.

I think it has to do with balance of players, really. Having someone new in NL could have been what cost Uls the game. England was able to build a MASSIVE army and continually send funds to Russia and Prussia. This was my first 'nappy' and I really enjoyed it. It makes me look forward to our next session, when Austria claims the HRE and hopefully gets into a war with France :D

k, So what have i missed?

Anyway, This coming Thursday session is off due to Thanks Giving.

I read the On time cookie rule. Seems like too many edits. I am not up for that. However, if the team go for it, then fine.

Do i get it right that Nobody is no longer playing Port?

Its possible to win as France without any NL, and NL actually does near nothing imo. English fleet is nearly impossible to beat since they got Nelson. Even with Dutch-French fleet combined.

France has a fleet of 93 ships, I think. With that fleet you could distract Nelson by moving toward Ireland, and with that Nelson may stock from blockading the NL sea zone. NL could then load up some troops and send 43k either to North America or to India, where they could dutifully cripple the English economy. Also, it may be possible for them to get 43 thousand on the English continent, though I don't know what damage they could do.

The best thing you can do with the Franco-Dutch fleet is, RUN! Or use it in the Med to set up a trap to Karl and Suvo in Venice.

guys i really can't play friday and saturday sry.

and austria is not anywhere near hopless.
my austria from original KoH wasn't much stronger in this year.
and no one will blame it if they kick poland out of branderbourg, while if there was bb in the game, you have to play it out much more diplomaticly, (no one wants to be declared player killer :D)
austria now just needs someone who knows how to apply some diplomatic solutions instead strait forward war. it's quite a chalenge but still has a potential to be major player on word stage.
fnuco is right, poland is still not such a unbeatable threat, not even to austria.
spain is strong and well suited to protect them from french agression, and russia could be great ally against poland (if that's the path new austrian player will take)
not to mention that austrian-polish alliance vs OE is also not just possible but also quite probable.
truE hab is surrounded with potential enemies but potential allies are still more numerous.
nobodyreal trust me if you take up austria diplomacy, war and lot's of fun are guaranteed, hell i would take it myself if only i wouldnt suffer to see my sweeds mismanaged by ai or some other player.
you don't need so much edits at all.
with some ducats you can get HRE title back and then you'll have more mp than poland and after inheritances probably more then france...
not to mention that england and sweden allready stated concerns about polish expansion into germany...
and btw that reminds me fnuco when did you build those 47 gallys

Yes, great advice. :)

The real fear that I have is for OE. Uls has revealed his skills as a warmonger, particularly in our Nappy. But also he took advantage of no Portugal and No Austria to do rapid expansion. Already, at this early year, OE has 5 CoT!

The thing is with the last KoH, grabah, was that the other countries were not able to get too strong. Also, you had some of the rich Italian provinces, don't forget. You also had assurance that Hungary would be inherited with no problems. In fact, I do believe that in the last game, you would have emerged as the 2nd most powerful country. I could really see a Spain/Austrian Europe! :)

Austria should be fun. No session next week. Friday and Saturdays are bad here as well.

Something should be worked out here gentlenman. Surely we should try to get in one session this week, even if we miss a couple of players. After all, we missed a few last week and the campaign moved along. If that means myself being subbed or ghosted, then so be it. My fear is that we go too long without a session and people fall out of the loop and quit.

I am asking the GMs to try to set a date for this week. If we can get 6 players, perm or sub, that should be enough to continue on. Given 1-2 days notice I could almost certainly work out something with my schedule to play. So lets not give up on this week entirely. Please post your availability ASAP. You can view mine in the above post.

P.S. Worst comes to worst, a few of us can do a nappy to satisfy our appetite.

yep, I agree, OE took advantage of the situation.

I think trade is "the key of success". I always try to take as many Cots as possible to have traders in abundance, naturally. I suppose Portugal was important to avoid some of my recent adquisitions, Zanzibar, Oman and Isfahan. However I doubt Porto and Austria would be that active against that. Simply because I'm not being that agressive against their spheres of influence which is good for my diplomacy.

Naturally, Spain can assist Austria in the future, I found such strategy an optimum equilibrium.

No-one can blame you of my mistakes as BB, sir. I took a bet I couldn't mantain long-term.

Austria's got von Frundsberg... it's got a bright future if it's well managed, no doubt about it.

Firday/ Sat will be bad indeed, people still drunk, doing stuffs, or still visting someone far away from home.

Weds is bad as well simply because of the preparation for THx giving ( cleaning house, cooking and so on)

That leaves us with Tuesday! So Session will be on Tuesday same time.

This is the best we can manage here team. Stick with it.

Tuesday session!
