Can't: being GC instead of IGC, I need to have seven majors in the game. France came out to put in the Iroquois, and Portugal came out for Granada.

Hmm... why don't you use IGC, it helps out quite a bit?

I'm sure it would. I downloaded and unpacked it, but I must not have done it right because I couldn't run it. Now, if it was pen and paper instead of a computer thingimabob, ...

In any case, I've fought another BB war. Did I mention that when I last left off, in military xp 7th place Hanseatic League was in the negatives? :D

Between May 1765 and the following Apr, we founded TPs at Superior, Okhotsk and Laos. In Nov '66 Gastrikland converted. Then on 1 Feb '67 Svealand declared independence. After destroying their army, I discovered I already controlled the city  ; annexed on the 26th. Then came TPs at Surabaja, Makassar, Nain and Torngat, and the coversion of Leister.

On 1 Aug 1768 Holstein declared independence, and as with Svealand I learned too late (26 Sep) that I controlled their capital. But by that point Spain had already DoWed me (18 Sep). This was followed by Turkey (9 Oct), France (23 Nov), Iroquois (26 Dec), Russia (25 Feb), Netherlands (21 Jun), and finally England w/Hanseatic League (22 Jul). I did not call on allies for any of the independence wars, nor for Spain nor Iroquois. But Pol-Lith and Austria joined on all the others.

Meanwhile, I demanded tons'o'cash of Turkey 8 Jan '69, and the same of Spain (1 Apr) and Iroquois (21 Apr). We replaced enemy TPs with our own at Belle Isle, Mialto, St Helena (I was always forgetting France's here for decades!), Pondicherry and Madras. I had no intention of letting Russia off easy again, but they had an 80+k army at Moscow with a great leader that was wiping out Polish and Austrian armies. My first attack (with about 40k) met with total annihilation, but took them down a notch to about 50k and cost them all their cannon, the battle ending on 11 Apr 1770. They would do the same to my next army on 2 Oct, but by the time the war was over there wasn't a single Russian soldier on the map.

In any case, the Dutch offered Eskimalt and Nueltin on 3 Jun (I had already torched all their other TPs: a few times they had offered two but when I torched the others and then accepted, the game CTD). On 27 Jul England offered Wewak, Ulster and Munster. I had been waiting for an offer of three provinces from France, but they kept offering only one or two (not including Lyonnais, which I really wanted to ease troop transit), so on 12 Aug I gave up waiting and demanded Bourgogne, Lyonnais and cash.

On 2 Oct Svealand again declared independence, and this time they went on to seize a province, but I rereannexed them on 30 Aug 1771 (having first embargoed my ally Poland). Meanwhile we converted the rest of Eire to Irish Islam in the fall of '70. Moscow fell to the combined armies of our alliance on 8 Oct 1772, and the next day they offered Poland cash. The day after that I demanded cash as well, and they said OK (I was starting to suffer from war exhaustion revolts). And over the last three years we founded more TPs, at Isthmus, Attawapiskat, Chimo, Athabaska and Manicougan.

Good work, seems a little strange that you already controlled their capital, but since that made you win I guess there is no reason to complain ;)

Very nice work, very nice work! As to the capital, I think it’s best not to consider how you controlled it but rather just be glad you did. – One phrase of the update that made me chuckle was the Irish Islam part. ;)

Another war down, and now only 15 years left...

In 1773 we founded TPs at Chin and Magadan. On 1 Sep 1774, Svealand declared its independence again. Then came the BB declarations: Turkey on 8 Oct, Spain on the 20th, and Iroquois two days later. Each of these three saw me call for allies, hoping to make them happy by getting cash. Turkey paid on 11 Nov, Iroquois on 8 Dec, and Spain on 5 Jun 1775. Meanwhile, another TP went up at Kolyma and Whangerei converted. The Dutch went to war with all of us on 5 Aug.

Svealish intransigence lasted exactly one year, and the people of Bergslagen converted shortly afterwards. Then came another spate of declarations: Hanseatic League with Brandenburg on 3 Nov, England on the 7th, and France a week later. England I faced alone. Trondelag converted in Mar 1776.

On 23 Jul we demanded Ensenada and Salton of the Dutch, having torched all their other TPs. France offered cash to the Poles on 13 Aug; we kept refusing their offer of one province when we had 6 stars on them. On 20 Sep we demanded England's only TP at Anticosti and double indemnities. On 1 Feb 1777 rebels overthrew the Hanse, leading to Hannoverian independence.

On 5 May we finally gave in to Berlin's harrassing us for cash; they had captured two Austrian provinces and ending this war reset our seige of Guyenne, which was oh so close to 5k in population. The very next day, France finally offered us a good peace: Berri, Nivernais and Orleanais.

Ooh, you're almost within marching distance of some nice yummy annexable German minors. Of course, you could always just sail there... :D

So this tale is coming close to the end, but you still have time Pat. Good work, now you just need a couple of more wars to take out those damn French and also that will make it possible for you to annex a lot of German minors. Looking forward to see how much you can win before the game ends :)

German minors? What German minors? Hannover just reappeared, and I'm adjacent to it and Hanseatic League. Other than that there's only Brandenburg and Saxony. There haven't been any other German minors for about a century or more. Austria and France took care of most of them.

But yeah, only another 15 years left to this campaign, so maybe three more BB wars, probably just two. I had been hoping for France and Austria to make a separate peace (Austria had taken at least two French provinces), but when France finally offered me three provinces I grabbed at it.

My next campaign will be the true challenge, though. ;)

Oh, those dang Spanish, declaring another BB war... I do wish you could just do away with them once and for all! In any event, best of luck with the next couple years of play, I hope they see some big action. :p

This should be the penultimate update: with only six and a half years left, there's only time for one more BB war.

In the almost five years of peace after my last update, we converted Guyenne, Jamtland, Jylland, and Vastergotland. TPs went up in Chelekov, Kamemkoie, Korfa, and Massawa. Also, Whangarei became a city.

Then Sjaelland declared independence on 1 Feb 1782, and we all know what that leads to. Spain on the 7th, Turkey on the 28th, Hanse on 29 Mar, Russia on 11 Apr, Netherlands two days later, and Iroquois on the 22nd. There were others later, but that was the initial rush.

A TP went up in Palama during Feb. On 2 Apr we demanded tons'o'cash of Turkey; Iroquois (15 Jun) and Spain (3 Aug) got the same message. Oh, and Vasterbotten converted in Jul. OTOH, Holstein declared independence on 1 Oct, although we annexed Sjaelland on the 10th. And the year closed out with France (plus Saxony) declaring war on 15 Dec.

A TP in Winisk was founded in Mar 1783. On 9 Apr we embargoed France just before annexing Holstein, Hanse going the same way on the 28th. The few remaining North German states obviously didn't like this, as both Hannover (with England) and Brandenburg declared war on 9 May. In July our new TP at San Bernardino opened for business.

The next two and a half years were spent extracting peace deals. On 3 Aug the Dutch offered Friesen, Luzon and West Pommerania. On the 28th Austria paid England, although I would forget that this split the alliance wars. France offered Champagne and Maine on 14 Sep. On 25 Oct Russia paid Pol-Lith for peace, bumping the seige of an again Russian Moscow to Austria. TPs went up in Chisasibi and Bisharin.

Thinking that if I force annexed Hannover I would still be at war with England, I offerred to simply take Bremen and all their cash; unfortunately this still left me at war with England. That was on 3 Jan 1784. Nothing else of great importance happened that year. Feb 1785 saw TPs go up in Damman and Karabogaz. On 12 Apr Russia had to pay Austria. The following month a TP appeared in Emba. On 1 Sep it was our turn to extract cash from Russia (gotta love it: in a single war against a single alliance, they get completely conquered three times).

On 17 Nov England finally agrees to a truce (whew!). And I did a scummy thing: I watched Austria and Poland continually assault a maximum fortress at Berlin until they finally take it on 17 Feb 1786, and then my diplomat sneaks into the city to offer a truce. Why did I do it? War exhaustion had reached the point where I was going to be facing revolts the world over. Bad enough that out of my 14 remaining Protestant provinces some 9 or 10 are controlled by rebels.

France is one bizarre shape in there :p If England was smart, they'd invade now and take back their old possessions ;)

And then you could grab more provinces in France in one war! Yay! :D

A little strange to think that this story will soon be over, but still it has been great fun. Nice update there, your Empire is growing more and more and you have done well taking out those evil French, you need one more war and three more provinces though to make France look a little “better” ;)

another ending

All good things must come to an end (bad things too, but we don't care about them...). A TP at Bouzatch in Apr 1786 sealed off the rest of the world from everyone but ourselves. Over the next year or so others went up at Buchman, Krasnoyarsk (I'll be so happy to play stay-at-home Hanse and not have to type these names ;) ), and Tomsk, converted Jujuy, and founded a colony at Omsk. Oldenburg converted in Jul 1789.

Then in Oct Sjaelland declared independence (after 1~2 years of being controlled by rebels), followed a month later by Holstein. Turkey declared against our alliance on 5 Nov, followed Iroquois (England) on the 20th. Omsk became a city early the next month, and on 11 Dec we demanded tons'o'cash from Turkey.

On 4 Jan 1790 Spain declared against us. Iroquois were forced to pay us tons'o'cash on 13 Feb, and Sjaelland was annexed on 16 Mar. France joined the war on the 28th, and the next day we annexed Holstein. Hannover (England again being junior partner) declared on 6 May, as did the Dutch on the 28th. Two wars ended on 2 Sep: France offered Armor and Wurtemburg, while Spain was forced to pay tons'o'cash. On 24 Oct we demanded that Hannover pay lots of money as well as strong arm the English to give us Wales. Russia joined the fun on 15 Nov.

We founded TPs at Tchita and Nerchiinsk in Feb 1791, while in Mar Svealand declared its independence. Brandenburg was the last to join the war, on 30 Apr. On 6 Jun we demanded tons'o'cash from Russia, and annexed Svealand on the 23rd. Aug saw two more TPs, this time at Ottawa and Alabama.

The final year of the game opened with a new CoT at Austria. Nyland converted in Jun. I wanted to end the game at peace, so when Brandenburg made yet another demand for cash on 16 Jul, I accepted. But I forcably extracted more cash from the Dutch the next day, putting me at peace. Finland converted in Sep. In Oct I mobalized all 810 saved manpower (654 of it in Islamic provinces). And finally, in Nov, there were new TPs at Megantic, Ticonderoga, and Hochelaga.
