Wait wait wait, the American Republic and Federal Republics were removed?....now I suddenly don't want to upgrade to the newest versions of EU4 once I get a better PC.

Someone enlighten me. They sound cool. Must have been a compelling reason to remove them. (I know I could spend time looking it up, but I like helping others feel smart. )

It's really just a piece of anti-DLC propaganda that happened to catch on after the release of CoP, and since it was never reality-based in the first place certain people continue to believe it.

Those events that could be adapted have been adapted. Many of the events are about hyperspecific history that really don't work with a player-created USA.

Wiz, this sort of spin damages Paradox's relationship with the community. When you say "it was never reality-based" but then also admit that events needed to be adapted, and later were, you're showing the community that ok, yes, you'll eventually fix problems, but you won't admit there was ever really a problem in the first place and you'll claim complaints aren't "reality-based."
