I was mostly just asking if anyone has considered taking Quebec. How do it was just a side-note.

The UK is also the largest power in size and has the benefit of being on an island.
Ensure you have naval domination, and then invade the island. Britain is a bit of a paper tiger really, they often lag badly in land tech so if you can beat them at sea they'll fold fairly easily. Also use St Pierre and Miquelon as a base to invade Quebec itself. Just watch out in case they have any dangerous allies, the Germans in particular.

Make sure to block the Irish sea crossing, for some reason it appears alot of their troops come from there. Make sure you destroy them good and proper, so they break up and scotland and ireland become independent nations. :)

Just have some ships, and invade the British Isles.
On a note, Quebec isn't really interesting. Sure, it's accepted culture, but it would cost tens of thousands of free colonial power to transform into a state, something not possible. You could wait for Canada to be released to snatch it as a state, though.

It would be more a roleplay thing than strategic.

It would cost like 1500 at worst and as France you should have no problem with that

I fought Britain for Newfoundland as France, thought it was in a better position on the coast close to St Pierre and Miquelon.
There was also a high level of immigration into Newfoundland once I'd took it; population became majority French in no time.
It may have been interesting to go further and take Quebec as well but I didn't, don't see why you couldn't though.

I personally have not but it would be no different then how you normally handle Britain: declare war and let one stack cross the channel. Blockade the channel and destroy the one stack and because you block the channel they lose their whole army rinse and repeat a few times until you march on to London and with a battle, blockade score, and a few seized provinces they will give you Quebec without you even putting a single soldier on North American soil.

To be fair, that's pretty realistic for the time period. An awful lot of Irishmen joined the Army (up to 25% of all redcoats), because it was a guaranteed meal, and vaguely regular pay. Plus, there'd be a decent amount on the island at any given time, on garrison duty and keeping an eye out for Fenians/Republicans/insert name of current Irish problem here.

Certainly a good way to get revenge for the Heights of Abraham. Who needs to squabble over Africa when you can destroy the Home Islands?

Completly ignore India/America when going for Quebec, just let them invade you and slaughter their stacks in France (Where they take attrition, cant reinforce as quickly and have nowhere to retreat to). Once you're done with this cross the strait and you're good.

I have. In fact I took all of eastern Canada (which was colonized by French before British), and also most of eastern USA cutting a line through it (historical Louisiana/New France).

Apart from the fact that the Brits still owned India in my save, I was the unbeatable #1 great power sitting on huge pile of resources.

It is not like Britain has anything special in it. You can just defeat it like any other nation, it just requires you to have a decent navy and take land fast before Indian armies arrive.

An other way is a coalition war against UK. If UK has a strong continental ally (Prussia, Austria, Italy) that you have already weakened and if you also have continental allies, it might be worth it just to 1) occuppy 100 % of continental british ally and refusing white peace 2) sink the Royal Navy (which will trigger brithish war exhaution) 3) don't invade the british island, just let their armies come to you and defeat them on your soil (so attrition and the scale superiority will be on your side and not on theirs).
After the war is won it won't be difficult to turn quebec into a state : because French Canadian are an accepted culture and because of the bonus assimilation points of the Americans (Anglo-americans won't be assimilated but british and irish will)
A war against Canada could be difficult because a revolution happens rarely and they might become independant only when achieving GP status. Then, without a stronghold or a powerful ally in the Americas, land occupation might be more difficult.
