HOI != EU/V/CK

there is no empire building/rebuilding. There is only a pre-game huddle, and then War. Then, only War. The HOI timeframe does not allow for any true nation building or shaping. No time to do anything truly ahistoric. This is why PDS is NOT calling this HOIV Grand Strategy Game. I think that's very intentional and appropriate.

Fairly certain they are calling the game a grand strategy game. Because, you know, it is.

I suggest you guys check Mod33 for HoI2. These empire rebuilding are allowed and constructed by rather complicated event chains.

I second this..

I wish I could still play HOI2, but the dated interface and small map is just too much to overcome for me.

I hope for a return of Mod33, or similar mod to live out all these empire building fantasies in HOI4.

Nobody thinks he is perfect except fanatically brainwashed Turkish people of Turkey. He is your typical bourgeouis revolutionary dictator. It was pretty common in Europe and even the world at the time. His difference was that he was more on the "progressive side" due to his bourgeouis nature. Within already capitalist countries, these dictators were "reactionary or conservative at best", Mussolini, Franco, Hitler...etc. In the context of a feudal empire like the Ottomans, he shines as a progressive man.

This particular "bourgeouis revolutionary dictator" created jobs, made school mandatory for minors, improved Turkey's overall and economic infrastructure. he really did save the country after WW1.

Then you haven't seen what a good player can do with, say, Romania. As for Austria-Hungary, why start with Austria? Conquer Austria with Hungary and change the tags afterwards.
