So I rebelled from the HRE as part of an independence faction. I raised my levee's and sent my commander to help the rebel army (cause the AI is doomed if you don't), and we routed them. When they started to retreat I managed to kill the Emperor...

And apparently i was the top selection for the non-rebelling electors for the next emperor. I became emperor, and my levees joined the losing side of the battle :|. Thank you for helping us fight, now you can die :| :| :|

First off, is it intended that a rebel can inherit? I mean, that seems messed up. And the game has no way to deny inhering titles you don't want right? Cause I don't wanna be emperor. The Aztec's are gonna eat the HRE for lunch.

Second, shouldn't there be an event that if the title passes to a rebelling ruler that rebellion is automatically passed, probably without the prestige hit losing the war....

I guess this post straddles the line between a bug and a suggestion.

I don't have a screenshot of the inheritance. I also don't have a save-game, since I control-alt-deleted out. I would of been willing to play as emperor (even if it wasn't in my plan) if that was how the cards crumbled, but the 'you killed the king and so your troops join the losing side of the battle oh and they have no morale since the roman forces were already retreating' just broke the suspension of disbelief.

'Oh look, my duke stabbed the enemy Emperor, and he is favored to be the next emperor, I gotta attack you now' lolol.

Plus i would of ended up with no personal troops because of that :/

However, since I did do that, I do have a screenshot showing my duke in revolt and being the heir to the empire.

I guess since its an Elective Empire, I can vote for myself even after I get independence, its just that the other lords of the realm are willing to vote for me while i'm rebelling but not if i'm independent
o_O?
