This is not a complaint thread..That said first i want to continue.. i started this morning with the game as Ottoman Empire..It started with the war against Timur so for so good..after fighting a year Naples declared war on me,ok. 2 front war(me thinking nice)..i moved my ships so that they couldnt cross to my provinces..So far still do-able..

after 3months Serbia declares war on me with Walachia and the byzantines..After 1 months Naples offer a peace deal which i accepted..Well here starts the trouble,Wow what a rebellion!! i fight in the east west and rebels..so i managed to take karaman as a vassal and made peace with Timur..Now i focussed on the west..i had a 5k army to defend against the naples, which i used now to stop the Serbs, which worked fine.Few provinces good attacked by byzantine and Wallachia.(the knights also declared war) i took rodes, after long siege took thrace.few rebels appeared which i destroyed(real hard time) after couple months bam rebels again..
Luckily Golden Horde did sent some help, but not much..I dont want to write to long but it came to this point..i conquer move on and the conquered provinces rebels again..this happened Constantly.I was unable to fight a decent war due the rebels..I only could say wow..The turning point was 25k rebel army at Thrace. Now i have to go outside, but i got a little owned i think i have to fight for a peace. btw stability was between 0-1 the whole time..(i even cheated to get it to +3 and no change).

I just wanted to share this and ask if anybody else had huge problems with rebels?
So this is not a complaint but i was suprised..I didnt expect this kinda huge rebellion..

Can't wait till i get home and continue the fight with rebeşs

In my first game during the beta I was playing as Spain. My king died in battle just as I was finishing up a long war vs France. Due to high WS, low stab and a regency council I soon had a pretender to my throne rise up. Not too long afterwards 2 other provinces also rose in his support and soon I was embroiled in what was basically a full blown civil war. At their high point rebel forces had about half my country and I was losing ground. I focused all my remaining armies on the 1st pretender army commanded by the pretender himself and eventually managed to kill him, which ended the pretender revolt so I only had to mop up a few heretic armies afterwards.

Playing as England I had a sustained rebellion lasting quite a few years after prolonged war with France. Each rebellion had about 6000 infantry in it's armies. Fortunately I managed to get a favourable peace with France in time to deal with it.

Would you say the rebels are too much now? Or is it possible to conduct all your affairs including warfare with foreigners without the constant interruption of rebels if you're careful?

Ok, I'm seriously worried now. I conquered about 3 or 4 sunni provinces from the Golden Horde as Muscowy and I'm being spammed of rebels. It seems you should just stick to your own religion as this is real bad. About 20% revolt risk in each province.

I am trying to convert them but with no luck, not to mention missionaries add to revolt risk too (6%!). I like it, but will be hard to expand as Russia.

I've noticed alot more rebels too. Tried a game as Tuscany, and it really has got alot harder since Napoleon's Ambition. So...many...rebels...

Annoying when my army is 5k and I'm at my support limit, but I have multiple 8k rebel armies propping up in my lands. If they actually manage to take the province, the future revolt risk increases too in IN, even if you come along and take it back a few days after.

I'm not sure I like the changes in IN to rebellions so far.

That's only true of Patriot and Nationalist type rebels.

Amusingly, playing Milan recently, I managed to rack up huge WE at -3 stab and got hit by a series of revolts. Long story short, my army was only 5k at the time and I ended up with 56k of rebels. I managed to build up an army of 14k and eventually defeated them. Thankfully they were all peasent typos and couldn't reinforce. Rebel numbers have been reduced since then though.

@Kazmir: Park some troops in the province to reduce revolt risk!

As Byzantium, rebels are amazing! :D
All greek rebels in Ottoman provinces are working for you, so just give them a bit of help, and Greece will be yours before long!

I regularly have to team up with Spain to keep rebels down, particularly the zealots.

England and Lithuania are just some examples of hotspots of rebellions in my game. The OE got completely taken down by them, and eventually Hungary got annexed by everyone around it after it's government collapsed. Rebels are a very serious threat in IN.

No way, Muscowy is so easy, I tested them and by 1700 had formed Russia and had 90% of the Russian Empire at time of Catherine II's dead...

When I first saw Johan's "preview" thread where he mentioned the new rebels I had a feeling that rebels might be tough. Maybe they're a bit too tough. It might be hard to keep below your forcelimits and low maintenance in peacetime, since the rebels can be too huge in size. I'm a bit worried that the game will turn into a "whack-the-rebels" yawner. Add this to the increased size and militancy of the pirates and this could be rather uninteresting.

But I'll save my real comments for when I download and play the damn thing. :D

What nation have they formed?

Wales, Cornwall's cultures changed so now it'll belong to Wales when this sort of stuff happens.

Edit: So far, I haven't found rebels repetitive at all. They're just much more of a potent threat than before, and this gives them much more of a purpose. Rather than just sending troops to occasionally bonk them off, you have to post troops in risky territories to hold any rebels back, because if you neglect your defences for threats from within you'll be crushed.

It all depends on how aggressively you expand. If you double your size in a few years, you'll be overwhelmed with rebels. If you expand more slowly, your army will have no problem keeping rebels under control and continuing to expand.

I really like this, as it makes WC much harder and gives good reasons why, for example, the Ming never conquered the Steppes even though in-game they can beat all three Mongol hordes together.
