Alright, so I'll be straight to the point with this one. I would like to see religious revolts able to convert a country regardless of the primary faith. Zoroastrianism and Judaism exist in the game as single provinces, but even if rebels from one of these religions convert every province of your country and siege your capital, you cannot convert to them because they are not in any available religious groups. Thus, the only way to get a country with them is to use the nation designer.
These religions are functional, as they can be chosen for the designer, but for a regular run or an ironman game, they will never spawn a country. By taking out the religion-group limitation that I have noticed, interesting alternate realities can occur where Zoroastrian Persia rises again, or Judaism may take over Ethiopia, Egypt, or whatever other country holds the province, and it could even creep its way to Israel. Though these might be considered too minor to really play a part, and I'd be perfectly understanding of that stance, the fact that they are purposefully made much more difficult to convert hints that they are meant to stick around.
Religious revolts are inevitable. I've met with them, and I've even failed against them. As Ethiopia, all my provinces were Jewish, including my capital, but I could not change from Coptic. I'd understand why changing culture (such as with the decision) might be significantly easier, but if a religious rebellion gets that far, perhaps loosening the rules on conversion just a bit could benefit the cause of creating interesting worlds, and allow players to play with these religions on ironman.
Though, alongside and cooperating with this request, I must say that I think noreligion really needs to be fleshed out more. It was such an interesting and prominent faith of the time, and it deserves much more attention to detail. It was widespread across Indonesia, and was even the imperial religion of the Ming!
If you can't tell, the last part was a joke. The rest is serious, though. Ultimately, it is in my belief that allowing religious revolts, if drastic enough, to change your state religion beyond its religion group, could be beneficial to the player experience.
