Hello.

In my current AGCEEP game as Italy I took control over Dalmatia.
The Ottomans are getting fucked over by rebels and high RR. First the wrong cultured and wrong religion province of Ragusa joined my realm. I didn't like it.

Now, however, Serbia, Kosovo, Hellas, Albania and Bosnia joined my realm as well. That's jsut plain fucked, my stability costs are now twice as high as before and they are nothing but a drain on my economy.

Hence I want to propose, that you should be able to deny rebels, that they join your realm.

You can get rid of Ragusa, Serbia, Hellas, Albania and Bosnia by releasing them as vassals. You're stuck with Kosovo, though.

I know, admiral.

The thing is, that's not always possible. Say, you get some spanish provinces as France, or just anything that's not possible to make a vassal, you're stuck with the province. That's not always in your best interest.

I hope, that with the now almost unlimited number of tag's we can get a nation for every province, if that makes any sense, so these situations can be avoided.

Actually, I do agree. The I'm-stuck-with-this-province-that-hates-me-and-everything-I-stand-for-yet-still-defected-to-me problem has always driven me crazy.

Maybe provinces that hate you... etc. shouldn't defect to you in the first place.

Aye. Very annoying indeed when unwanted provs defect to you. But instead of this option I agree with a previous one. First of the 1st option for a prov is to turn independent. Then it may join my realm. But it is my realm and rebelled controlled provs may only join it if I want to. Same as in real life I think. If player refuses, it should go to another AI nation.

This (the original idea) is a good plan. But another thing, it should be possible for islands to defect as well. Currently a an island under revolt and without a tag of it's won will remain rebel controlled untill the AI manages to suppress it, even if decades pass in the meantime. This is not an ideal situation.

Indeed, but how to solve it?

Make a tag for every island? Give every island a sort of linked province to which it should defect? Or simply calculate distance in provinces and pick equally between nearest neighbours?


And another thing: I think rebels shouldn't defect to a nation with whom their only border is rebel-controlled.

Not exacly!

Release them as vassals and then dow bosnia or an adjcent contry to kosovo and if they have cores on the province you can immediatly give it to them....,if not just wait for them to take control of the province and then offer it to them! :D

1. A province should try to defect once rebels have control of it and the overlord nation hasn't moved to siege it in 6 months for wrong culture OR wrong religion provinces, 1 year for good provinces and 3 months for wrong culture AND wrong religion provinces.
2. Any province will only defect to a nation of the same culture (group) as them OR declare independence: if the rebellion is of local nationalists they strive to independence (eg. Serbian rebels), if they're a broader type, eg. Southern Slavonic rebels, they should prefer to adhere to an existing southern slavonic nation. If there's none, they should turn nationalistic (eg. into Serbian rebels) and declare independence.

But on the other hand, I think the EU2 *not know the EU3 model* perfers that vassels be one provance. Only thing I can think of is open a Kosovo tag in your game *removed inflamatory comment ~ MrT *
