Hallo,

how can I rebase my airplanes to overseas locations.

I'm playing as the US and I cannot bring my F-86 Sabres to Korea as they can't cross the pacific from Honolulu to Japan. When I try to fly to Japan, they always fly back to Honolulu when reaching their maximum range. Carriers won't work as the F-86 cannot land on them. Cargo ship also doesn't seem to work (or is it just me who doesn't use them right?).

Is there any way to solve this problem? Thanks in advance!

This is easily modable using excel, goto the SRCW folder in program files and then open INI folder and orders.csv put a 1 in cell E9, E25, E26 and then save. Make sure to backup orders.csv before making any changes incase there area any problems.

You should now be able to use the sea transport command like you can with land units (need and air base or field in the same hex as the port or pier).

Thanks. I will try that this evening.

However, that means that it is really not possible to transfer the air units with the default game settings... very odd. I suppose this also means that you need a pier and airfiled in the target area. And what will happen with transport ships providing amphibious assaults, will this cause a game crash, I wonder?

What might be preventing them from rebasing is limited flight range. Most planes in the game cannot cross the Pacific.
