Some events such as "Spymaster (mother in this case) caught marking with chalk on the wall" fired 7-8 times in about 2-3 months. Also, some events surrounding carrousing fired twice in immediate succesion (e.g. arriving twice at the same feast).

I've also been getting this. i was recently cured of food poisoning ten times in a single day. I've also had my chancellor improve relations with someone multiple times in one day (I suppose I should be thankful I have yet to see him screw up multiple times in one day). Finally, my marshal has at times improved recruitment multiple times in one day.

DLC: I have all DLC except for Songs of Yuletide, The Song of Roland, Tales of Treachery, Orchestral Horse Lords, Viking Metal, and Full Plate Metal.

Mods: I am not subscribed to any mods, though the game says I have "Bloody Peasants," "Decadent Caliphs," "East African Clothes," "Ruler Designer Unlocked," and "Treasonous Adventurers," all of which are inactive.

Reproduction Steps: It appears to happen all over, but assigning my chancellor to improving relations will almost inevitably trigger the bug, as will assigning my marshal to training troops.

Can verify this is happening with the HIP mod (and with CK2Plus as well, I believe).

Various events, both on_action events as well as MTTH events, will occasionally fire two or more simultaneous instances at the same time. It's not frequent, but it is very noticeable. There seems to be no rhyme or reason behind which events are affected...it's simply random.

Personally, the test games where I've noticed it cannot be chalked up to resign/reload. They happened in new games.

Mind you, I've never seen the events happen as often as mentioned in that other report, either. It's possible he could be exaggerating, and it's possible that resign/reload may make it happen more frequently. Either way, this seems to be a pretty significant bug. It would be great to get some Paradox eyes on it.

And I've just run 8 different starts over the last week. I've not seen a single case of what is described in this thread. It might be an issue with mods being used though, since the a lot of reports here state they are using a mod.

Tried Nomad, tribals(pagans and catholic), feudal and muslims. I've actually found bugs that still haven't been reported - like for instance you can eat half your dynasty and not be considered a kinslayer. If it were as easy to replicate as suggested, surely I would have experienced the issue.

And if it comes down to a mod issue, then it would an issue with the mod.

I am indeed using a mod -- I'm one of the devs making EMF for HIP -- but while this might be specific to mods, it's not an issue which can be chalked up to faulty coding. These are events which are simply firing in rapid bursts for no apparent reason.

If it is specific to mods, however, that would be good to know - though at least one user above (General Luigi) reports the issue without any mods installed, so I'm not willing to say that's the case.

And as someone who pretty much exclusively uses their marshal to train troops, I've still yet to see it produce multiple instances of an event. It could also be an issue with a corrupt file.

Try reinstalling your game and run it without mods to see if you can replicate the issue. It could however be an issue with scripting errors, no one is perfect. It could also be an internal issue. Without an idea of where the cause is however, there isn't much to go on.

All the events - in question - are triggered through on_actions correct? Then the events being duplicated should be linked to that. Since the issue isn't appearing for everyone, the cause needs to be found.

Yes, I'm aware. You'll have to trust me that I'm pretty sure it's not an issue with the mod specifically -- I've been at this for awhile, and I wouldn't suggest it if that weren't the case. I haven't investigated the issue in vanilla, but that's why I'm here.

Just did a clean install of CK2 with NO mods and I'm getting message spammed with "Army has arrived" non-stop. It happens every in-game day.

This was a fresh install on a fresh hard drive and operating system.

Have since done a full reinstall. Also removing documents folder for CK2 (backed up saves though). Still a problem. Once a fleet or army reaches a destination the message system spams it forever.

That's a known issue and isn't the same as the other events. You can set those messages to not appear. This is a message, not an event.

Effects are applied multiple times, so if you get two messages about taxes collected by a steward with 100 gold each you will get 200 gold
