Really Quick Tale of Ethiopia on Veteran (Success Story)

So, yesterday I got my hands on Hearts of Iron IV. Someone (@Da9L ) mentioned Ethiopia being so hard. So hearing this challenge, I decided to jump right into it. Of course, I decided to go for Veteran Ironman mode - because why go for ez-mode right? So in my first attempt, I did hold out for 8 months. Second run ended after 2 years with balance of casualties 3:1 (Italians lost 3 men for each one of my own), but unfortunately eventually dislodged me from the capital. Then tried couple things, once went for casual regular scrub-mode. But today I woke up, still almost sleeping, and decided to do it once again. And well - it went quite okay I must say. Only thing I regret is I'm having allergy, and sneezing like madman, so couldn't stream/record it with any commentary

I'll be doing either video guide, or do some write-up, or do like couple things at the same time, and stream it/ytify it. But for now, I need to wash from all the dirt gathered on the battlefield, and take some rest.

Ethiopia is a lot of fun. I chose them as my first "learn-HoI4" game, figuring I'd lose within a few months and learn the basics of the game in the process. I ended up holding out in the mountains for years, finally making a few successful counterattacks, and then nearly getting destroyed to heavier Italian equipment before WW2 kicked off and the Allies jumped down Italy's throat. Whew.

Before WW2 proper started, I had 100,000 casualties to Italy's 500,000.

Ethiopia allegedly has the Ark of the Covenant so it would seem the rumors are true. The Nazis in Raiders of the lost ark must have stolen the decoy ark that only melts peoples faces off. While the Ethiopians have the real one that makes the controllers armies invincible.
